Corvette Caravan - Morning track sessions at MPH, 8/26/19

I'm working with George Anderson at Motorsports Park Hastings to plan track sessions the morning of Monday, August 26 next year.

Several of us with the Corvette Owners Club of San Diego are traveling to Bowling Green for the NCM 25th Anniversary celebration. We're meeting up with the Rocky Mountain & High Plains caravan near Denver on the 25th. At least one member of the Pacific Central caravan is also joining us. We will be having lunch at Harchelroad Motors in Imperial, Nebraska and staying overnight in Hastings on Sunday.

We're hoping to get 30 or more qualified drivers interested in participating. The plan is to have two run groups - Advanced/high intermediate and low intermediate/novice, with each group getting three 20-minute sessions. Sorry, no beginners. We'll go to 3 run groups if the numbers support it. Parade laps and lunch at the clubhouse will follow, before we head to Omaha for dinner. We anticipate the cost to be in the $100 - $125 range, depending upon the number of participants.

It's still several months away, but if you are interested, I need to hear from you now! If I'm going to drive that far, I want to get in some track time along the way!

Id possibly be interested. Still a ways out to say for sure though. I havent been to that track yet but might try and jump in on a champcar race next year there. A couple other tracks for you to look into stopping at would be Raceway Park of the Midlands(RPM, formerly MAM). Its just south of omaha. Also Heartland Park Topeka in kansas.

Maybe send me a PM when it getting closer to the event or when you need to know for sure by.

I've visited both RPM and Heartland. Neither work well with our tight travel schedule. Both would require a significant diversion from our route to Bowling Green and are well north of our route back home. But thanks for the suggestion. I hope you will join us at MPH. I'm putting you down as "interested" (not "committed") and sending a PM. Thanks!

You can sign up for the 8/26/19 morning track day on the MPH website. The cost is just $100 for three 20-minute sessions AND lunch in the clubhouse. There is no obligation, as you will not be charged until after June 25th. You can cancel up to 2 weeks before the event, with no charge. Sign up here: http://www.racemph.com/event/corvett...orning-monday/

To get the event on their calendar, I'm being asked to place a deposit by mid-March, so PLEASE sign up NOW! If we don't get to at least 30 registrants by that time, this event won't happen. If it gets canceled, you won't be charged anything.

If you've never been to MPH, it is a fun, 2-mile course designed by Alan Wilson. http://www.racemph.com/about/the-track/ With 30 Corvettes, there will be just two run groups. If we get more, we'll go with three groups. So lots of "clean" laps!

If you are going on the caravan to Bowling Green (as several of us from San Diego are doing), this is right along the route I have planned. Contact me for more details.

We're a few short of the minimum we need to make this happen.

Participants will get 20% off all Angelwings Tech products and the lines we carry, such as Pyrotect, Black Armor and Piloti.

Sorry, no beginners. Novice and advanced run groups only.

Craig
