What's your favorite C4 look?

I know threads like this end up with people basically posting pictures of their own car. But what I'm asking is not really your favorite C4 or even favorite color for a C4 but rather your favorite C4 looks (it can more than 1) that you think looks good on a C4. I know purists want nothing but stock and fully original and that's fine. This is probably not the thread for that then. But a great thing about the Corvette is that it's probably the most customized sports car in the planet, for better or for worse.

I personally think the C4 can use some spice up, tastefully done. Not a fan of body kits and the like. But a nice set of wheels, the correct color combo between body, interior and wheels, plus small accents here and there, can help to improve the already slick C4.

I myself really like red C4s. Don't care much for red C5s for some reason. Red C6s are also nice. But I have been thinking if I can find an alternative to red. Not that I have a problem with red. I think it's probably the best color for any sports car. It's not like black which hides the lines of the car but it's not so low contrast such as white either. I'm just trying to see if there are any colors I'm missing out there, before I set on red. Some colors might be boring and unappealing on their own. But when they are part of a look, they might come alive. Reason I started this thread. ;)

For example, I think this look could work really wheel on a C4:

I couldn't find a C4 online with that look. Some with TA GTA wheels etc. But not the same class IMO. I did find C6s with that look though and they look nice IMO. Some people may see gold as bling or too pimpmolbile. But when done right it looks stunning. Lotus John Player Special edition cars are testament to that. Even the 70's Bandit TAs pull it off. Same with 3rd generation TA GTAs with golden wheels. I think if it's tastefully done it will look nice.

So what are some of your favorite C4 looks?

Not gonna say favorite but headed in a direction I like. A fav is a real clean one cheap, preferrably a stick.

Interesting with the orange turn signals, reminds me of Ferrari.

I kinda like five spoke wheels and the Greenwood body kit.

And, I'm already breaking the reason for the OP effort.

I also like the LPE Kit a lot.

For the later C4s, I love the look of the rear end in the ZR-1s. Put next to a base model, the base model looks squeezed to my eyes. The ZR-1 looks aggressive with those massive tires.

My favorite C4 look is when the clamshell hood is sticking up in the air. It stands out in a crowd.

May be a cliche. But any red C4 looks great. I'm not a fan of chrome in any way. But a red C4 is sex on wheels!

I cant understand how some people could not like chrome in any way.... I mean look at a 57 Chevy Bel Air..... Without chrome the car just wouldnt be what it is. Im not a huge fan of black wheels myself.... but there are cars that wear it well. Chrome is reflective and really becomes the colors around it... Chrome on a black car cant be beat. Chrome is almost universal and can look great on just about any car really....

Oh come on now! Stop it already! I'm trying to give other colors a chance here! Stop posting awesome red C4s! :D

This specifically is exactly what I had in mind till a week ago. A 1990 red ZR-1. Now I'm starting to second guess the ZR-1 thing and might get a standard C4 and do a LS swap instead, based on speaking to some knowledgeable guys here. But it's not to say yet.

I have a thing for the pre 1991 shape. I think it's starting to look like a classic, as the post 1991 is still semi modern. I like that the pre 1991 cars have a more Italian influence. Corvette was born from Italian influence. The side vents on the pre 1991 is pure Ferrari. Ditto with the round tail lights. The whole shape is more edgy and chunky and less 90's smoothed out. So it's more classic car material these days. The post 1991 C4s still need another 10 years to get there. It suffers from the same problems the C5 does, but to a MUCH lesser degree. The C5 screams 90s and the 90s were just not that long ago enough yet. ;)

BUT! Sometimes I love how futuristic the post 1991 cars still look. So slick, just as sexy really. I used to think if it's red I would want a pre 1991. Black or another slick color I would want a post 1991. That was before I saw MatthewMiller's red post 1991 C4. It looks fantastic! I think I know what it is. The smoked front light covers make the post 1991 cars look futuristic and less sporty, while the pre 1991 are pure sport. But MatthewMiller seem to have taken the smoked lenses off of his red C4 or something and it brought the car to the sporty side. I'm not sure you can understand what I mean by sport vs futuristic. Of course both are sport. But I hope you understand where I'm coming from. :)

I guess you can kind of tell I'm still split. If going for pre 1991, the 1990 ZR-1 is the ultimate one. You get the Ferrari-esque styling with the more slick and modern interior and ZR-1 rear. But I'm still not sure what I will go for.

As for red, it's my favorite so far. Black is cool but hides the beautiful lines of the C4 too much. It's also pretty monochromatic. I think the murdered out thing got played out about 10 years ago IMO. I dislike black whell on any car. Not only because they are hard to keep clean and will show any imperfections. But also because they are dead. IMO a sports car should look alive. All black is great on a limo. Reason I thought of the gold and black look. But I don't want chrome gold for the same reasons I don't enjoy normal chrome. Too much bling for me. I enjoy more brushed aluminum, silver etc. So matte gold could be ok.

Apart from that I thought of burnt orange for a post 1991 car. It would look nice and futuristic with the smoked front lenses. This is basically a dark metallic orange type of color.

The C7 has a great new green that I also like very much and could look good on a C4.

Then there is gunmetal and also pewter. But the less brown kind. But these are also like black. It needs some color to spice it up. Nothing too loud though.

But there are big chances I will end up with a red C4 of some sort. So please red C4 owners, stop tempting me! :D

Absolutely! This is one of the nicest things about the C4, which the later generations all lack! You open the hood you see the whole drive train as in a race car or European exotic. I love that.

Well with the Bel Air it's very different! I agree with you there. For the same reasons a Ferrari 250 needs chrome bumpers. But a 488 with chrome bumpers would look ridiculous in my opinion. Classic cars are fine with chrome.

I think what I hate about chrome in newer cars is that it reminds me too much of the boat era of U.S. cars. Where they were all huge as a boat, heavy, ugly, square, technologically archaic and full of chrome. I could never get that picture out of my head for some reason. :(

I'm not a fan of bling in general too.
