Help with value / pricing

Hey guys! Long time C3 owner and restorer. But I’m looking at a C6. Can you guys help me understand the prices and advise anything I need to watch for?

Its a 2011 Grand Sport. 55k miles. Automatic. Red with ebony interior. 2LT engine. No hit / no damage car.

whats it worth? What should I look for and check out?

One of the single most expensive items on a GS is tires. Due to the staggered sizes the choices are limited, with only one company offering A/S tires in factory sizes. There are a few recalls (I am not sure which ones apply to 2011s, but overall they are very reliable cars. I would also check the brake pads, the stock GS brakes had fantastic stopping power and fade resistance, but dusted like crazy.

Take VIN to a GM dealer ask for a GMVIS report which'll show how it was while under its orig B2B.
History over 3/36 is a fairly good tell, repeated dealer visits for same issue (aside from silly crap) is not a good sign.

Otherwise I agree, LS3 is virtually bulletproof.
As stated tires aren't cheap, 4 corners $2K + alignment.
Brakes can be done for reasonable $, especially if a DIY...<$1K

However there's one PITA issue that's plagued C6 its entire run: Harmonic Balancers.
W/ engine idling check if fan's wobbling. If it is, needs a HB, told many times a HB job's a PITA = pricey if paying labor.
BTW if a HB doesn't scare you away & you're experienced w/ this kind of repair, consider an aftermarket ATI & be done w/ HBs forever.

Former C3 (3) owner here, welcome to C6 & G/L.

You didn't state if it is a dealer, or private seller. And, you will get a lot more feedback if you tell us the asking price, rather than expecting us to take a shot in the dark.

As for the price of tires, yeah, they are somewhat expensive, but not outrageous. The HB is a possible problem, but not nearly to the extent many owners say it is. Easily balanced out with a stout engine/trans/rear end that you really have to try to tear up before it will fail. I would do due diligence, then not be concerned if the price is right. Just be sure it has everything you want, or you will be kicking yourself for not getting the right color, interior, LT trim level, NPP, F55, etc. You don't want to be looking for another in 6 months because you didn't know something else was available.

Coupe? $28k if it's perfect and you love it.

And anyone who pays $2000 for GS tires deserve the kick in the balls they're getting.

Edit: I was being generous before, miles hurt the value more than I thought.

Just put on my second set of Bstone Poles for 2 grand total. The first set lasted 40k. My balls did not feel a thing.
I could have gone with Coopers for a grand total. Not sure how ballsy that would be.
To each his/her own.

Yes, HB can be a pricey issue, look at the sticky threads at the head of this section.
