Twin Turbo C3 build

For anyone thats interested - Iam doing a twin turbo C3 build - pics below

Tech details -

engine - LSX B-15 crate engine from GM
Gearbox - Tremec T56 magnum
CTS- V - accessory drive kit from GM

Engine mounts - ICT engine swap plate and energy suspension motor mounts(without preload plate - dropped the engine a extra 10mm by not using plate - energy suspension said it was ok to run like that) This thread covers it all in detail - https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ne-mounts.html

Steering - Steeroids rack system - there is a ton of room between the oil sump and rack, engine is mounted as low as possible(if i tried to go any lower the oil pan would be scraping off the road) - the key here is the choosing a slim oil pan, i used the holley oil pan- it still has a good capacity, but is really slim at front, comes with drain holes for turbos
link- https://www.holley.com/products/acce...ns/parts/302-3

Headers - stainless steel works headers 1 - 7/8 tubes - 3 inch outlet - not cheap - but vastly thicker metal compared to cheap versions
Turbo's - borg warner s362 fmw twins
Radaitor - will use my dewitts rad, will need to layed forwards and flater
Intercooler - will us my old procharger one for now
Holley EFI system - dominator ecu - holley loom etc

I was watchiing Engine Masters and looking at all the turbo combinations and was just wondering how it would fit. Particularly the accessory drives, intercooler radiator and exhaust routing. Now I will know. Good luck and I'll be following along. Thanks in advance for the info

So what is the steering system for the car, doesn't look like a lot of room left ?. Looks like you started with a LSX what did you use for the motor mounts ?

That should be all questions answered so far - on my 1st post - ask anything you like - cheers guys

Looks great!! Looking forward to progress.

It's a tight squeeze as you've already figured out. On my single front turbo, I had to optimize the space up front.

What are the two holes for in the front?

Where are you going to route the exhaust?

corvettedave383 11-11-2018 12:25 PM

new progress - turbo downpipes/exhausts tacked together - 3 inch pipe - you cant get the downpipes to be 100% symmetrical in the engine bay, because the way the engine sits towards the passenger side, ive mounted the turbos slightly higher, to allow me to use 45 degree bends, for best exhaust flow, wanted to avoid 90 degree bends etc, they will stick out of bonnet, some advantages to that better engine bay cooling, nice fresh cool air coming into turbos and better exhaust flow, which equals to more power lol

Keep the pictures coming!! What are your plans on the hood going to be? Love this project!!

DblTrbl 11-11-2018 12:42 PM

Nice. Turbos sticking out of the hood are definitely an eye catcher.
