Fiberglass composite monospring and jacks

I'm about to install an used VBP or Van Steel (not sure) 420lbs rear monospring and I'm wondering wether I can jack the car or not from the metal plate bolted onto the differencial.

With the steel leafs spring is not an issue but I guess that with a composite monospring it might be a different story.

Thoughts?

I put a 2x4 on edge on the jack and that provides a bit of cushion, and clearance enough for the exhaust....

I usually put the jack under the diff itself.

How can you do that with the monospring in place?

just in front of the mainspring, when its up in the air then I block the frame.

By thinking ahead and driving the car up your custom wood rams and blocks so it raises the car enough to easily get under it. All you need to do is to drive it up on a couple of 2" x 8" boards screwed together....then make a ramp out of the remaining a wood you have so you can drive up on them.

That is what I do anyway on the cars I need to get more ground clearance on when trying to get the car up of the ground using a floor jack.

And I have no fear that the car is miraculously going to crush the wood.

That's what I do when I don't use my Qwik Lift. The 54" Race Ramps work with my 80, too, and I can get the jack under the diff with the extra 1.5 inches. You might need 3" (2 2x8s as DUB suggested) for lowered cars.

Notice in the photo above that he also has the rear tires on a block of wood also so if he needs to get under it to raise it...he can.

The system I use uses a block of wood like he has but it has been doubled up so it is twice as thick.

Thanks DUB! That's what I was trying to highlight. Not so easy on my phone. Two 2x8s are 3 inches thick.
