Has The C8 Been Cancelled? I mean.....

Crickets! If the car were to launch at the Detroit show i'm thinking we should have heard something by now. Something should have leaked. By this time in 2012 GM was leaking teaser videos with the Detroit Auto show date on them. It looks to me the car might be delayed, In fact I think GM even leaked the the C7s emblem by now. Sumpem aint right I tell you!

harley2 11-16-2018 02:24 PM

Yes

There will be No C8! Their skipping it and going straight to C9!

Well then someone tell the Mods to start a C9 thread please!

range96 11-16-2018 03:13 PM

It has been suggested here that it will make its debut in April '19 at the New York auto show. It probably won't be ready for prime time in January, just yet.

Supersonic 427 11-16-2018 03:29 PM

They (GM) are doing a great job keeping things quiet with all aspects of the C8. About the only thing we know, is that it is coming and will be a Mid Engine Corvette! As far as anything else.................??????

jimmyb 11-16-2018 04:24 PM

It's not going to be intro'd in Detroit.

mre1974 11-16-2018 04:35 PM

The C8 doesn't even officially exist according to GM. Maybe they did cancel it. Or postpone it? Or maybe...just maybe it was never the C8 Corvette and it is something else entirely and they are trolling the car community.

As I posted just yesterday...

1) NO development problems are being experienced at this time.
2) Production of customer 2020 ME Corvettes
is going as originally scheduled;
3) It will stay on that track regardless of whether the reveal is Detroit in mid-January, or New York in mid-April.
4) If you can afford a 2019 medium-level Grand Sport, you can afford an entry 2020 ME Corvette.

Yea I do think we lost that window already and i'm so disappointed. I have had an ordering option for the C8 through Les Stanford for some time now I just want to see see something a glimpse to put under my pillow at night.

Source?

GM is cutting costs and projects along with next years Auto Union contract. The new CFO has a lot to deal with in the coming year.

SharkVader 11-16-2018 08:04 PM

I’m sure they want to work as many bugs out before any big reveal... I wouldn’t be surprised if no c8 next year either

Mary Barra. She actually lives in the Pacific Northwest and they are neighbors. She commutes to Detroit by private jet everyday and because of the time difference, it works out.

Definitely. It's hard for her to get by on just $22 million/year. And she can't even throw a decent curve ball.

So you're saying?

1. Deliveries starting around Sept. 2019?
2. No Detroit reveal?
3. Starting price $70-80K?

And what about the higher model variants...Z06, etc when will they come out?

Ask him about the 0-60 time and the EPA fuel economy numbers. What colors at intro?

All jokes aside, Mary Barra actually lived right behind me in the Bella vista subdivision in Northville. She moved out just last year, think they live in Bloomfield hills now. Nice house, sold for 2.5 million, drop in the bucket considering she pulls in over 20 mill.
