Few Corvettes are as cool (and rare) as the venerable 283/283 '57 fuelie.

Beautiful examples, both of them; high on my wish list!

There was no way in God's green earth that I could ever afford to buy a real one. So, I built my own---------------------------from a tired 56. For a WHOLE LOT less money.

This car was at an all Corvette show in WA. state. The owner was a cool guy and said that it was found in the corner of a big industrial warehouse. The company owner said it was parked there in 1971 or 1972, not covered and so much dust you could not see the paint. He said it had injection on it when found and was not street legal. It has an Olds rear axle with the springs moved inboard for wider wheels. He was able to buy it and has been making it street legal ever since. He has done beautiful work and upgrades. He left the olds rear, has not touched the body or paint and it is a true period piece for sure.
