So WB no mas? You seem to be more in it for the journey than the destination. Are you using the blue rear clip or shopping for a vert body? I guess you know of lowbuck72's. Conversion. It would be a good read for you, either as one way to do it or as why shopping for a vert body makes sense. And I somehow doubt you will use Rust-Oleum and a roller...

I've been waiting to see this car worked on! I'm a nit concerned over the statement about a reasonable engine though

I'm sure you saw the rear clip for a Vert in the parts section. It does appear you have the L88 flares on this now as well or maybe it was just the angle of the picture. I'm sure Bats will be drooling all over this one.

Looking forward to this!

I'm certainly not saying that it's an easy job, but it certainly is "doable". When I was visiting Ft. Lauderdale, in February of '79, I was driving north on Federal Highway, and was surprised to see what appeared to be a new '79 Corvette in the showroom of the Chevy dealer.....but it was a 'vert. Of course, I just HAD to stop in and take a look. Indeed, it was a brand new car, that had been converted into a soft-top, by a local shop. This shop, 'Corvette World by Roy Sines', had done several of these conversions, for the dealer.

When you saw off that blue top-piece I want it!
I wanna turn my convertible into a coupe.

(just kidding :hide: )

NONN37 11-29-2018 08:31 PM

make one of those fastback long flat window coupes instead of a vert. hehe

GUSTO14 11-29-2018 08:45 PM

Of all the Motion cars I've seen over the years in person, I can't say I've seen very many (if any) convertibles. This should prove enlightening...
