Screen names--there meanings?

The forum seems to be a little slow right now and I have reserved this question for such a time. I always like to figure out the idea behind your screen names so lets hear them.

I will go first.
Back when I joined the forum in addition to the 1966 Corvette I owned a 1968 Hemi Charger and in an effort to keep my screen names/IDs for several different forums I frequented I tried to use the same ones when possible so I could remember them. I have long since sold that car but of course the name is unchanged.

WICKEDFRC 11-30-2018 02:26 PM

Wicked FRC. Seems self explanatory but I came up with this when I had my 2000 Fixed Roof Coupe (FRC) forged by LG Motorsports and hit 191 on the Autobahn 5. That was pretty wicked: aka WickedFRC.

Now that I have a stock 2013 C6 Z06 that rarely gets any love, I should change my forum name to GarageQueen

FLYNAVY30 11-30-2018 02:32 PM

Bought my first Corvette my junior year in college in 2002 and joined the forum..... FLYNAVY was what I was hoping to do with my life, 30 was my number on the basketball team.

My screen name on forums I've joined more recently (4Runner, C-10, Protouring, Lateral-G, etc.) is Sally53E. Sally has been my callsign since I started flying the MH-53E.

GEM '62 11-30-2018 02:32 PM

GEM '62 About as simple as you can get, my initials and my car is a 62

plaidside 11-30-2018 02:33 PM

This is a Willys-Knight, Plaidside roadster that I owned and since sold. It was made by the Willys-Overland company out of Ohio but the body was made by the Griswold body company.
Notice the design on the door and it got the nickname "Plaidside".
I never have trouble using it as a screen name as is only about 9 - 10 known to exit in the world.

Mine, for owning two 1989 Corvettes.

Other vehicles have come and gone, but still have the pair, even since joining Corvette Forum in 2001

MaineDoc 11-30-2018 02:44 PM

Mine is easy to understand as well, psychologist living in Maine. A little more history is Doc was my trail name when I hiked the Appalachian Trail and I used this on some sites until it was necessary to use something else and I just added Maine, a name that I now use on various forums.

3 guesses where I retired from!

Loved trains even before I loved Corvettes, and made career out of my interest.

Dad's '66 427 11-30-2018 03:12 PM

Our Dad bought the '66 new. It was our Mom's grocery getter when we were kids. She was probably all of 4'-11" driving us kids around, sitting on one pillow with two behind her so she could push in the clutch. We went everywhere in that car. Then we started to get bigger and when she could not fit 2 or 3 kids in the back, with groceries, she said she needed a different car. Fortunately, the Corvette has stayed. Our Dad passed away in 2004 and my brother and I inherited the car. At the time, the car was up on blocks, as our Dad was going to take out the transmission and replace the synchro's, re-core the radiator and some other things. My brother and I, with some help from a friend, decided we would do those things, and get the car back on the road. It was then that I found this forum, and I would ask questions. Back then, I used the name Dad's '66...… Then things got busy with work and our kids got busy with school and sports and I did not check in here for awhile. When I came back, I had no clue what my password was, and my email was from a past job. Just figured I would start new, and tacked on the 427....

fyreline 11-30-2018 03:17 PM

fyreline - I was a professional firefighter for over 40 years in Syracuse, NY, retiring as Deputy Chief of Operations. The fireline is the most advanced point of the firefight . . . or the line established around the fire scene that the public may not cross. As for the "Y" in "fyreline" . . . well, Y not?

Lotsacubes 11-30-2018 03:19 PM

In 1972 I had a '69 C3 Vert with a 350/350. The hottest car I ever owned up to that point in my young life. When you don't have much of a point of reference (and your young) you can think you're the biggest, baddest dude in the bar... until someone calibrates you. I autocrossed my SB C3 with a friend that had a 427 '69 C3. We ribbed each other about mine was lighter, not much less Hp to his heavier blah, blah, blah. Well long story short.... he calibrated me to the joys of LOTS of torque. From 1973 until 2016 I lived in the cool car wilderness of vehicles required for family, business, necessity... FINALLY the love of my life said.... it's time... just go do it... get your big block Vette.

Lotsacubes.... because I was pathetically low on creativity the day I joined the forum. And ever since I've regretted hastily picking that handle... like naming your new daughter Gladys. Or like the Hogg sisters... Ima and Ura.

And... that's the rest of the story.

Given to me by my elementary school music teacher, for (back then) obvious reasons. Once it stuck, I decided to embrace it. After a million moves it just faded away.

427Hotrod 11-30-2018 04:03 PM

My '67 had a 427 (it's still on the stand in shop)....but it's grown a set and became a 540"..and then a 555". And I like "Hotrod" style stuff more than stock.

I use 540Hotrod....on other Forums...guess I need to update that to "555TwinTurboHotrod" these days!

The first 3 letters of my first name and the first 4 letters of my last name.

Frankie the Fink 11-30-2018 04:17 PM

My moniker goes back to my early Old Town days when this bit of grafitti was seen next to my car (I didn't put it there)...
There is of course, Frank Fink - the father of the Liberator bomber who owned a 1953 Corvette (no relation)!
