Supercharger info

Hi Everyone......first post on the forum after lurking around for quite some time.

I've got a 2016 C7 Stingray Convertible that I bought new in November 2015 that has about 5000 miles on it so far. I wish now I would have got the Z06, but didn't. I'd like to convert it to a wanna be LT4, so I'm looking at adding a supercharger. I've read quite a bit about the Edelbrock TVS2300 package. Any thoughts from people that may have this unit installed on their car? Pro/Cons? I'm in SE Michigan and want to get it installed, so if anyone knows of any GOOD shops that do this, please let me know.

My performance shop recommended the A&A.

Spend a little time reading through this form section https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...n-nitrous-173/

You can a learn a lot by reading through some of those threads. Folks have been bolting on superchargers to C7s for about 5 years now. Spend 3 hours and you’ll decide pretty quick. There’s a ton of useful information there.

I have the stage 2 Edelbrock E force kit 15701. I've had it for 2 years and couldn't be happier. I make 571whp on a mustang dyno. I couldn't be happier, it's been flawless. I went 11.30s in the 1/4 in 92* on run flats (traction limited). I've since switched to Toyo R888Rs and in sure it will break into the 10s this spring in cold air.
Edelbrock tech support has been excellent and given the choice I'd do it all again. The installation instructions were spot on and everything fit perfectly. The car is a blast to drive!!

I wasn't thrilled with the red powder coating it comes in so I had the red parts powder coated black.

I have the stage 2 Edelbrock E-Force on my car. Like BlueDevilZ51, I have had zero problems with it in the 2 years that is has been on the car. The power is great, the car drives like stock (off boost), and the supercharger is near silent. If it matters to you the gas mileage is unaffected.

I bought A&A and it’s perfect.It acts A little like A turbo.I don’t have trouble getting traction off the line.With A Z06 if you go all
out at the line all it wants to do is spin.

If I may ask what did you pay for this including install?

BlueDevilZ51 12-09-2018 11:44 AM

I paid $6900 for the Edelbrock kit, i did the installation myself.

Matthewstorm 12-09-2018 12:48 PM

Look up MJD performance. They are really close to you too! Let me know how it goes!

I got headers and tuning there and they were great.

We are running some specials on some at this time and offer 0% financing for up to 1 year. PLUS if you buy a Edelbrock Eforce from TPS Motorsports by the end of the year you'll get an additional $500 rebate on top of the great price we'll give you :) :salute:

What supercharger setup is best for road course and avoiding limp mode like the ZO6?

Slovak 12-12-2018 04:47 PM

I bought a 2017 C7 3LT in March of 2018. GREAT car, but I wanted a Z06. So I traded the Stingray in on a 2016 C7 Z06 3LT in November of 2018. Still miss my Stingray but there is a huge difference in these 2 cars. I bought my Z06 from Corvette World out of Dallas. Good guys and a great deal.

Many customers are using the stock blower and getting it ported along with a ton of cooling mods for the C7 Z06 to prevent it from going into limp mode

We have a complete LT4 blower pulloff setup with the correct ATI lower pulley, belt drive, HX pump ect that was on a Stingray we already swapped if you want to stay as oem as possible. We could make a good deal installed for the whole setup if you wanted to send the car down to DE. Or we also sell all other blower kits mentioned. Give us a shout and we can help you out.

Could you be a little more specific on this?

The stock blower has cooling issues, but is relatively cheap to get (can probably get a whole LT4 supercharger system for around $3500 or less used as opposed to around $6500+ for aftermarket). So he's saying many people are opting to get a stock LT4 supercharger system and then port the blower (might aswell do it since it's already off the car). Porting a stock 1.7 will get you gains in the same realm of what the 2300 will do stock for less money. Then add some cooling mods such as an upgraded heat exchanger, expansion tank and cooling bricks. But it all depends on your power level needs. Once you get to 700rwhp, you're running out of fuel and need to start spending some pretty big coin in fueling mods at which point you'll need to be looking at upgrading the supercharger anyway.
