2013 GS for $34,000 or new 2019 Base for $51,000

I posted this in the C6 section and they sent me here ...
The GS is a 3LT ,27,000 miles and flawless. A6, all stock.
New Michelins, battery, new fluids ,new plugs. Nice car. I could pay cash for this car. Those are the pros. The cons are it's had 4 owners. No warranty.
The C7 is a base Stingray 1LT 8 spd. . Not a lot of options but for a first time Vette owner I think I could make do.
I would have to finance about $15,000 for this one.
I've driven several C6's and two C7's .
I like the roominess of the C6 , the C7 seems smaller interior wise but is a badass ride in my opinion. I'm 5'-8" so I easily fit in a C7.
It seems like the C6 guys hate C7's. I like both . I also think a well setup C5 is killer looking so I am not biased.
What do you C7 dudes think?

I had a very built C5, skipped the C6 and went to a C7. I can tell you hands down I would go with the C7, even if comparing a C6 GS to base stingray. The C7 is a great car.

I've owned a C6 GS and a couple C7 base Stingrays... I'd say without a doubt go C7. I really loved that C6 GS widebody, but the C7 is an amazing upgrade.

If you can swing it, go Z51!

Can not think of any reason to take a C6 over a C7 unless money is an issue. Otherwise owning the C7 which is superior to the C6 is an easy decision..Get the best do not settle for less.

I have the 2019 Stingray 1LT and love it!! Get it!!

23/C8Z 12-02-2018 08:50 PM

How about a used C7 GS for low 50s? Best of both worlds..

regardless, coming from an 08 C6 to a C7 is night and day leaps and bounds the right thing to do. If you can swing the $$$$$

I passed on a mint low mile C6 Z06 for less money than my 2018 base C7 ... was a easy choice for me wile others may disagree ?

Agreed (generally). I have owned both, even owned a C6 GS AFTER owning a C7. Both awesome cars, both will be fantastic, but that C6 electronics pkg for me just can't compare to the newer car (even in 1LT trim), and the ride quality differences are pretty noticeable.

Preferences aside, I'd be VERY happy driving a C5, C6, or C7. All amazing cars with their own pros! Win-win situation.

Depends on the C6Z...

If it was a newer, low milage car that did not have any work done to it (including the head fix because I want to do that myself) and was $10k + less I'd have a real hard time deciding!

That C6Z... WHAT A CAR!

Yeah i know...the 427 is a gem and the gearing was what made it all so good (kinda wish my c7 had that combo ) but..... WAY to LOUD inside and super outdated interior just killed it for me not to mention the C7 looks are so good!

Absolutely, I still remember driving a C6 for the first time and said to my wife "this car is too nice for me, I will stick to my C5". Now I have a different list preferences. HAHA!!

Honestly, I can't get over the C6 headlights. They look like lights on a stalk inside a fishbowl. It just ruins the front end, IMO.
The C5 on the hand, looks much better, flip ups or not.

If it were me? I'd keep looking for a 2019 base 2LT. For the same, or less money. Believe me, the deals are out there to be made My new 2017 3LT was at nearly a -20% discount. That's what you should be able to get. Good luck!

C7 is a superior vehicle to the C6 in every way

This. I didn’t believe it until I traded my C6 in on a C7. No way I could go back.

Without a doubt get any C7 over any C6. I would get a 2LT over a 1LT but that’s entirely a personal preference. You will be happy with the C7. I look forward to seeing pics of your new C7 soon.

Same here. Moved from my custom '07 to '14 Z51 and now a 2019 GS. And while I do enjoy driving my wife's '02 Z06 (for what it is :D), I ain't NEVER goin' back either :D

RE: C7

I guess I was just lucky that I started reading up about the C7 in earnest in Fall 2013 here on CF. I quickly realized I didn't need to spend ANY time with the aging C6. I KNEW soon enough that the C7, was the new Corvette for me.

.The delight of learning how I would outfit my new C7, then was a learning curve process of decisions. A process that was worth ALL the time it took to crystallize my final C7 choice.

.When I found the right C7 for me, I immediately bought it. The first time operating it was well worth the time it took to find it. Good luck on your quest to buy the right Corvette for you!
