LS2 Spark Plug question
 

Bought a pair of the NGK laser irdium plugs and after some research decided that that may have been a bad choice. So after returning them and from what I was able to gather, I decided to go with the AC DELCO 41-104s,the LS9 plugs. Supposedly they are 2 degrees cooler over stock. Now my question is this, are these plugs good for a naturally aspirated ls2? Are they good or better then the 41-110s(I think those are stock). The only information I have found on them is that the people using them are supercharged or turbo. I have yet to find an answer if these are good for a naturally aspirated, un-tuned, bolt-on only c6. If they are an improvement then I will keep them, if not what would be the BEST plug to run in this car? NOT INTERESTED IN STOCK PLUGS... Where the NGK IRIDUM GOOD ANYWAY? I have just an intake and cat-back exhaust fyi. Also, if these are good should I regap them? I think the ls9 is much lower compression so maybe it needs to be gaped a bit better?

How many miles do you have on your LS2 ?

The original plugs are good for about 100,000 miles.

It's to bad your "Not Interested In The Stock Plugs" because they are the best plugs for a stock C6.. GM engineers spent time and money figuring out which plug was best for your engine , now you want to guess at a plug that you think is better? Stupid Move.... Running a plug to hot or to cold can damage your engine.......WW

There is zero reason for you to run that cold of a plug...

1 step colder for every 100hp above stock is a general rule of thumb...

I can GUARANTEE you havent added 200hp to your car with bolt ons.

Get the stock 41-110's. It is the BEST plug to run in your car. They are also iridium and will last you another 100k miles.

My question to the OP is, what gains are there to be made from changing plugs? I understand that the wrong plug can hurt performance, but not sure it works the other way around.

I only have old school knowledge, but aside from running plugs that are too cold will foul easier, there is absolutely nothing that will be improved or will even noticeable -- at least on the street.

BlindSpot , that was the answer i was looking for. so what your saying is that i'm going to lose some performance and idle with running a colder plug? I figured this was the case but i just wanted to be assured. also the ngks where 80 bucks, so i think im going back to the ac delcos. u think an ls7 plug would be a better match? or get with the 110s? IDk but there has to be a performance plug,MSD? i remember when i switched out my mustangs plugs and there was a night and day difference, in all ranges, throttle response, smooth idle, acceleration.

I am assuming they are the original plugs that came on the car from the factory.

But the 41-110's are the way to go.

yes TUrbo, they are original and this car sat outside and saw no love for a long time. the wires are a tel tale sign. i just got my garage cleaned out and shoved her in there. also it wasnt mine when it sat out i just bought her. has about 60k. but as i read in an earlier post and dont quote me if i am wrong but changing your plugs every 100k is like saying ill change my oil every 10k. you could but its not the best thing. also i just did and intake and it need an oil change so im there why not? also doing a new balancer. yay.. old one ripped right off

JARED. also got the granetellis. the 0 ohm also claims better radio, less interference.

New racing plugs, racing wires, wow... Now you need to go buy a fire suit and get a sponsor....just to drive around the neighborhood. LoL, just stick with oem to save headaches.

What you really need is some stickers.

I better watch out,..i did get stickers btw hahahaha. my last vet blew up, nothing crazy was in it, im just looking to do the maintenance it needs and albeit if an aftermarket part is better why not get the better parts? money better spent. i like getting what i paid for and for a vet its worth it imo. even if it is just to sport around the neighborhood.

I bought my C6 to distract attention away from my embellishment, but I still had to get a reduction because I kept hitting the brake pedal with the seat all the way back. Even folded in half it got Tangled in the steering wheel. Insurance payed for procedure it was considered an attractive nusence.

Back in the day me and my buddies read, probably in a car magazine, that "Resistor" plugs (they had an "R" designation at the end) would not give you the best spark. There were also resistor wires, same thing.

I'm thinking I had my new 327 '68 Camaro at the time. At any rate I ripped the wires off, took the plugs out, replaced both with non-resistor. Only problem then was the AM radio buzzed all the time (didn't have FM, that probably would have been okay). But it was all worth it because I'm *sure* I gained at least 100 HP. And when drinking beer with the gang at the local park on Sundays, I had bragging rights. :eek:

I also hope you are getting the matching Granatelli coil packs. They are "better" than OEM so money well spent right?
