So you roll up on this "Clean little C4 convertible....."

I love watching this....great engineering.

I luv the passenger's goofy grin and giggle after each time the car accelerates :D

Kind of pointless to have that much power in that car.

I disagree, too much power is never enough, :steering:

The roll cage kinda gives it away though...:D

Scott442 12-05-2018 04:12 PM

I wonder how tall the customer is? That roll cage is major head trauma waiting to happen.

Stuff like this is why I wish I had won the billion dollar lottery. Dan

I think the sides of the cage are removable with "Grade 8" pins...pretty standard. I like what Nelson says" When he gets a rear end in this thing that will stay together...can you imagine this thing running at "Full Song" !!" 1700 Horsepower in a C4 set up right would be an "Ultimate Street Sweeper"!! Think about rolling along next to a C7 Z06 around 80~85 and he gives you the nod....and you unleash that Son of a Bitch for about 10 seconds !! Talk about "The Air Leaving the room"...Jaw on Floor...like "WTF was that ?!"

Why would you say it's pointless to have that much power in "that car"? What's wrong with "that car"? "That car" is simply bad ass all the way around and definitely a lot of work and engineering went into it to make it look that great and run that quick. Should this type engineering and work only be put into new $80,000 Vettes? I don't think so. I'd be dam proud to have that C4 in my garage.

For someone that had the inclination, that package in a 1989 coupe (because of the year breaks), with the suspension and such dealt with to get bigger brakes, would make a real contender in the Ultimate Street Car Challenge. It sure would embarrass a lot of newer cars.

It is completely unusable on the street to extract maximum horsepower. Even Nelson says at 2-3 lbs of boost the tires can't get traction. So in this car, it is a waste. It has no way to get the power down to the ground. But it looks good on a dyno.

The current Z06 can't even put down its power in street trim without the computer making a few thousand calculations to make it do what it does... The car isn't the problem, you're beyond the limits of the layout imo.
