C8 is going to be super ugly. Hold onto your C7’s

We know who is running GM design now. And I suddenly don’t have much confidence in them. I hope I’m wrong, but it’s not looking good. Sorry, but I’m not blindly buying into the hype.

Those in the know, say the renderings are close, and most think it looks good.

So thanks for another useless thread. Maybe the mods can move this to one of the photo threads in off topic. <turd emoji>

So you haven’t seen it. Sounds like you’re drinking the Kool-aid already.

Kool-Aid and Hater-Aid seems like that's what gets pushed around here when many of us are just sitting in the middle. To my eye, Ferrari is the best eye candy but the reality is they sit outside my price range for comfort. I have found Corvette to be year over year great bang for my buck flaws and all, this one will be no different. That is of coarse if the price doesn't go up to six figures to get in the game, if that happens I'm out. I just won't put that kind of dollars into a weekend toy, plus I have a weekend toy that I will not sell. So we will see what is released when GM is ready and I'm hoping to be in my price range, ~$80k base with a few options, and the look is appealing to me although I know there will be a few things I don't like.

As for the current design team at GM, I don't mind the Camaro, Dad has an SS vert with manual and it drives really well looks nice with the top down. That truck in pictures, especially head on looks like a total lack of effort went into it, so I would like to see one in person to decide.

At the end of the day I think for many of us will base a decision on the price of entry first, if its to high were out, then a combo of looks, interior quality and performance.

Well the picture story was entertaining at least!

The Griswald wagon had to have to best headlight lighting of the day. 😄

Can't wait for the fake wood option on the C8. How much is it?

Going straight past fake wood paneling to full wood option.

Totally agree. Tho I really am scared what that camo is hiding. I’ve loved every Camaro (owned a couple) and 2019 is the first I hate. They obviously never listened to their fan base. So disappointing to think all this. Cringing.

Price will matter to me based based on what you get. $90k+ opens the door to lots of sports cars. But I will always have realistic expectations.

You MUST buy into the hype! Blindfold and all! You will be smote!

Say it! Say "The C8 will be beautiful!" Or you will be cast into a fiery HELL!!!!

I just don't see that here at all. The vast majority are in a wait and see posture. I haven't been crazy about any of the renders, but remain open-minded and cautiously optimistic. I don't understand all the angst on both polar opposites, you being the most rabidly negative.

If I don't like it when I see it, I'll simply take a pass . . . ain't no big deal.

Zora.Info 12-06-2018 02:29 PM

This literally happens every single new generation. We're going onto the 8th generation, maybe people can start acting their age and be more mature. People hate on the new car but next thing you know there is one in their garage. Reserve all judgment until you see any new car in different configurations, pics, videos of obviously in person. This is getting really old.

Wood sports cars have been around forever. I was hoping the C8 would bring something new to the table.

Which model is that mock up of? Just curious.

I hope when I see the new ME I go full wood as well. Haha

Rip Corvette C1-C7
that hideous eurotrash wannabe pos isn't a Corvette, nothing looks like a Corvette on it :ack:

Frankie2blue 12-07-2018 08:56 AM

Every single change and we have to have the crybabies wailing. Remember the death of pop up lights? When we lost the round taillights? When the C6 Z06 lost the C5 style hardtop? Every time there is a change there is a a bunch of people that whine that they can’t stand the change, will never like the POS etc, while most of those people I see that were once whining about all that are now driving what they once complained about. Thank God GM doesn’t actually spend too much time listening to the drivel that goes on around here too much. I have a C6 and a C7 parked in my garage, and as much as I love the C6, it looks positively antique next to the C7 when you look at them side by side every day. Thankfully things keep changing to keep things interesting. Can’t wait to see how the C8 makes the C7 look antique.

The vid posted of the C8R testing at Sebring made me feel like George when he was getting a massage. Jerry, it moved!
