1965 3782461 Freshly Done Heads

I just picked these heads up from my machine shop yesterday (Dec. 5, 2018) with all work freshly completed.
They are date code matched at September 15, 1964 and September 16, 1964. Perfect for an early to mid '65 car. Of course if date codes are not important to you these could be used on just about any 327 with any HP rating.
All new valves (1.94/1.50), double seals, Z-28 double valve springs, hardened valve seats, pressure tested, no previous damage or repairs. These heads had previously been done in 1982 but never installed or run. Guides were lined at that time and of course still like new today, hardened seats had not been installed in '82. This is what prompted me to have the heads re-done.
I had every intention of installing these on my car but, as things go, last night I was offered a set of heads that date code exactly to my car. Of course I could not pass them up.
So I am offering these 3782461 heads for just what the machine shop cost was $874.00. No core charge, no cost for the actual heads.
I am very flexible to deal with and I'll be happy to work with anyone regarding shipping costs as well.

Greg,

Do you know if these heads will fit an L79 327 / 350 HP Engine? (1965)

I have the original block on a stand with no heads. My engine's production date was 8/28/1964. My engine's casting # is 3782870.

I suppose they would be close but not an exact match.

Yes John, not only will they fit and function fine on your engine, but they are a perfect date code for your block. These heads are also also dated September 1964. Getting block and heads dated less than a week apart is about as good as it gets! That L-79 is exactly the same engine I was going use these heads on.

The only thing I'm debating is whether I should get aluminum heads as an alternative which allow the engine to run much more efficiently.

Greg

Are any of those date codes posted on the external part of the heads where they can be read without disassembling?

Greg 12-08-2018 04:07 AM

No they are not. You would have to remove a valve cover to see the date code. Externally they look identical to all other double camel hump heads of any year.

Still available.
I would consider a fair offer on these heads.
