Time to re-power the race car.. New goals 280mph and 2000ish HP

After running 267 mph this year on my original F1x setup, I have decided to re-power and go for the overall Corvette speed record in 2019.

Long block is out and getting upgraded. New billet crank, o-ringed heads, etc.

F1x and belt drive is out and being replaced. Not ordered yet, but I am leaning towards a 106mm single turbo up front. Car will retain the 2 stage direct port just in case!

I am thinking of running the inlet piping thru the front bumper again, air-to-water up front, radiator out back.

Staying with the manual trans for now, but we will see how it takes the power. A few small things to figure out, but it should be a fun winter getting everything put together.

Any time! I will keep you posted as it comes together.

Long drive (6 hrs 1 way).. but a trip to Loring is well worth it!

The lift has been great.. Use it at home and at the track. I dont have room for a traditional lift at home, but I have been able to do everything off the quick-jacks.

Not totally sure.. We dynod it in 2016 when I first put the car together and it spun the tires at 1100 wheel. Lots of small changes since...I am guessing we were 13-1400 at the track this year (without the bottle). (made 35 psi, but it runs a soft tune due to the length of pull.)

My best pass had some belt slip and only made 27psi and only took a 100 shot before the clutch slipped trying to spray the second 200 shot.. Car easily had 270 in it that day :D

What fuel & pump system are you running?

Any thought to run M1?

I have considered it (fuel system is still in question).. I am pre-wired for 2 sets of injectors.. My fear is that I would still need the air-to-water to keep IAT's down, at which point I would rather just keep the simplicity and consistency of the C-16.

I am eyeing the area where the mufflers reside for either the radiator ,or a square fuel cell. An off the shelf cell would make fuel pumps and plumbing much easier in the future.

The Fore system I have is rated for 2000.. Not sure if we will try it or not :)

I have an 8 gallon cell in the back and setting up the fuel line/pump is certainly a bit easier than dealing with OEM tanks.

I'm using a Waterman cable and rear mount pump with M1 and no I/C. But my car is only a drag car - 1/8 & occasionally 1/4 mile. No water in the block. You probably can't do that.

Not much done this weekend.. A couple small projects while waiting on parts. Back to the real job tomorrow.

I did start a new battery box.. This new Miller Dynasty Tig is great at hiding the fact that my hands shake like a leaf in a hurricane!

I would imagine I'd need a new block every pass! We make a ton of heat in the last half mile.
