Best Corvette service in your area

Welcome to a thread that I hope helps other Corvette owners across the United States.

I have moved with the Military and more recently relocated for work and have gone through horrible experiences trying to find the most reliable and dedicated to customer service Dealers and repair facilities.

Please let us know who, where, and why you would recommend a Chevrolet Dealer or Corvette specialist in your area

Just saying that there are a ton of threads on this topic in each of the regional sections.

San Antonio / Texas Hill Country

With out a question Alamo City Chevrolet 9400 SAN PEDRO AVE SAN ANTONIO TX 78216 is the top service and body shop in the San Antonio area. The Internet Sales office is not good and the salesman on the floor are not the easiest to work with. With that said I am starting to build a fair relationship with one of them that we will wait and see.

I took my 2015 Z51 in one month prior to the warranty running out to have the air conditioner compressor replaced. It had failed and the other chevy service shops couldn't get me in for a month!!! Im sure some of them are good but they were not willing to work with me like the Service Department at Alamo was. Bottom line they had to order the parts, they were able to fix the problem and get the car back to me within 4 days. The work was well done and no questions on the warranty. BEST SEEN.

I Tried to buy a 2019 Z-06 from them in July and could not get a salesman to take me seriously. I went down the interstate and purchased the same vehicle I was trying to buy from them from a different dealer. I attempted to use the new dealer (Not going to give the name because the sales division was good--Not Great-- but good) The service department tried hard but are primarily a truck service department and totally failed on the 500 mile oil change putting the filter on dry and having it leak within 500 miles.

I returned to Alamo City for my next oil change as well as a concern with the control unit for the environmental controls. From Dave and James in service to Steve in the shop the service was fantastic.

If You live in San Antonio or the Hill Country I recommend Alamo City Service shop for all work.

Thank you for your service to our great country.

For the past 22 years, I have taken all six of my Vettes to Bob Howard Chevrolet in Edmond, Oklahoma. I am very satisfied with their work and they have always provided great service.

Good luck finding a local Chevrolet dealership that provides good service.

Van Bortel Chevrolet Macedon NY.
Simply the BEST.

Been using Huffines Chevrolet in Plano, Texas, for more than 400,000 miles with four Corvettes - Richard Barker is THE man - been to schools on even the old C4-series ZR1 and works on the new C7 ZR1 cars. Thinking man's tech. Their alignment and tire guys are superb. Reggie Pimento is the service writer I'd talk with....

THUNDER 22 - Thanks, However the question continues to come up.

I have limited experience, as I've only taken mine in for oil changes, and a transmission fluid flush. However Ponytail Paul (yep, that's his nick) that did the tranny is a very good Tech at Ben Mynatt Chevrolet in my little town of Concord, NC. He takes time to listen when you're explaining your needs.

I have a different opinion of Bob Howard. They did the 500 mile oil change and did not tighten the filter. Result was oil all over my garage floor.

Friendly, skilled Corvette mechanics, and a pleasure to deal with. The owner is a big Corvette enthusiast and has a nice collection too.

I agree with Thunder above, but as long as I'm here, Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, MD (home of Mike Furman) has been fantastic. They have a Corvette-dedicated service advisor, Dina Bartholomew, who is outstanding, and only Corvette-certified techs touch your car.

I was just in Friday for an oil change, and as I started to deliver my dry sump oil system spiel about only adding 9 qts., giving me the extra to take home, Dina immediately said "we never put more than 9.3 qts in when we do a dry sump change."

I was in and out in 45 minutes. The same was true of a tire puncture on one tire, and tire replacement on another. I was in and out in less than an hour, and both were handled free under the tire/wheel warranty.

As you might expect, they deal with so many OC Corvette fanatics and sell so many Corvettes, they know they must handle them with "kid gloves" and do. I drive further than probably 10 other dealers in metro DC, just to go to Criswell.

Same thing with my local dealer - Wilsonville Chevy. They have 2 certified techs (whom I've known for over 8 years). Wilsonville also did the courtesy delivery on my '19 GS I order through MacMulkin.

They put no more than 9.3 quarts (although I just learned this past Wednesday that GM is now spec'ing it in liters!) in a dry sump 'vette and I've never had a problem with ANY 'vette they've worked on for me over the years ('95 C4, '07 C6, '14 Z51 and now my '19 GS). Just did the 500 mile change there.

Interesting, Criswell gave me an extra qt. of Mobil 1 0W-40 ESP, and it was in a quart bottle. I know when it first was supplied to dealers earlier this year, it only came 1L bottles.

That's great to hear about Benson's Alamo Chev. Service Dept. You're right about them on Sales. I tried to deal with them on a new C7, order, and they
must've wanted MSRP, because the Sales Mgr. became angry when I offered to buy a new one @ MacMulkin price. He said; "We don't play that game with Internet Chev. Deals pricing." 'Click' :D

.I gave them a shot because I had recently bought a Mercedes Benz CDI from Benson's Mercedes Benz Of San Antonio, TX right next door! My Mercedes Benz Sales Rep. didn't help a bit in them coming down to MacMulkin's C7 price. HA!
