Beware of Hawaiian Ocean Transport
I bought a set of wheels and tires from Discount Wheels and Tires..... I should have used Tire Rack.... Too late now. Paid in full including shipment.... The company shipping my wheels and tires Hawaiian Ocean Transport received them in their warehouse Honolulu this past Sunday. Ive been trying to get them to deliver .... however they are refusing to deliver... claiming there are shipment charges that had not been paid. I told them I would pay whatever the shipment charges are and would come to their warehouse to pick up my rims and tires. They refused.... said it would be impossible. They have been sitting on my property since Sunday and refuse to hand it over. Do not use this company for shipment.... I suspect the property is stolen from their ware house and they are stalling for time to figure out how to handle the theft. I spoke with the GM of the company and she is going to call her mainland office for guidance on how to handle this situation. They are withholding $2,600.00 of items if they still have the items in their possession. Im not sure where else or who can help resolve this issue... I contacted Discount Tires and Wheels and waiting for their reply........ I also requested they refund my entire amount since the company they chose to ship my property is refusing to turn it over to me. What would You do????????? |
Unless I missed something, call the credit card company and u want the charges reversed or taken off cc. My guess like u said is they are trying to figure it out. It's still early. Good luck

Yeah, hopefully you paid with a CC so just call them. They'll take care of it.
|
have FPD write them a letter :yesnod:
|
Better call Saul.
|
I could never live there. :leaving:

Hate that fucking place. It's like a third world country with money.

Thanks, I'll make sure to avoid them the next time I have something shipped to Hawaii.

Fly over to LAX, take an Uber to the nearest tires store. Buy a new set of tires and wheels. Take an Uber back to the airport. Fly back to Hawaii with the wheels and tires as carry on baggage.
Problem solved. |
I would first start a thread on cfot complaining loudly. I would then call my credit card company and dispute the charges. Finally, I would call the insurer of the shipper and file a claim if I still wanted the wheels. Further, I would call the place where I purchased the wheels and kindly let them know that the shipping company is treating you poorly and ask for their help, but not call them out here. It isn't their fault.

Hawaiian Ocean Transport is claiming there are shipment charges that had not been paid yet. I told them tell me what the charges are and I will pay them in cash at the warehouse here in Honolulu. They said it can't be done. They are refusing to give me my items...... I suspect the items were stolen after they received the shipment here in Honolulu. Thanks for the reply and suggestion....... |

Call your issuing bank and explain the situation. If your debit card is branded with the VISA or MasterCard labels, and if you made the purchase online, it may have gone through as a credit card transaction, especially if you selected VISA or MasterCard at time of check out. If you selected Debit, you might be SOL. But seriously, call your issuing bank.
I'll give them a call to see if they can resolve... |
That's exceedingly odd that they won't let you pay the shipping overages. Why does it matter to them where that money comes from? I would ask them to explain exactly why you can't pay them. I too suspect they don't actually have your stuff.
