I do not drive this car as much as I should, but last night I pulled the cover off after a month or so and she started right up. As I cruised up to work (60 mi round trip) I couldn't help but smile. Yeah, she has her flaws, but it is easy to forget them when there is an open road with very little traffic. :rock::lol:
Yes, I know the sign if for a C5, but it was a gift from my wife. :D

I'm down in north Texas. Our winters are usually very mild, but I really want to drive my vette in the snow. I've never done it. Hopefully we get some snow this season so I can have some fun.

You are probably tired of the snow in the winter up there, but down here I think we find it entertaining, especially watching everyone who doesn't know how to drive in it.

I'm in metro Detroit and I'm still driving mine. We've only had a slight dusting of snow and no salt, and it hasn't been that cold so far this season. I'm gonna keep it on the road until the chemicals come out! And the cool air brings it to life! :woohoo:

The other day here in Ohio the temp warmed up and the roads dried. Last weekend we had a good enough rain to completely wash all the salt off the roads. I took mine out and died a 40 mile drive. I can hit the x-way 2 miles from the house and then run a 40 mile x-way loop and end back up where I got on. I did see someone get their Porsche out also and go for a ride.

Yep, Stretch out the driving season as long as possible. I've been out a few times in December so far, including a dusting of snow.

had mine 2 winters in the U>P of Michigan....no driving whatsoever....however, it's now down in S Florida and very happy with Florida roads.......smooth as a baby's bottom.....:yesnod:

We got hit early with snow, but has been quite since Thanksgiving and a few warm days has melted the white crap we got. Still as much as I'd like to pull mine out as the weather pattern has been really quiet our roads are covered in frame eating rock salt and dirt gravel with marble size stones from over-zealous plow drivers, so she's staying in the storage unit until spring. Which in New Hampshire tends to come late June :(!

Drove mine on Christmas Eve, Denver temp approx 50 deg. There is no need to mothball a car in the Denver metro area, cold fronts come & go, it is rare to have snow on the streets for 5 days straight.

Great area for some afternoon rides. I've been working out of Solon, OH for the last 6 weeks and Enterprise made the mistake of giving me a Hemi Challenger as a rental. I had a little too much fun in the ice/snow a few weeks ago.

Been driving my 86 here in Ohio as drcook mentioned, the weather has been great for December!! I'll drive it until the roads are snow covered!

I went out for a drive today. It was about 50, heavy rains yesterday cleaned off the roads:thumbs:

Just reading about some models predicting a shift in the polar vortex which, if it comes to pass, will put a end to the party - especially for eastern/coast states, and western 1/3 of the country.. Middle states - will luck out, in the prediction models I have seen.

On another note: I don't believe I ever saw a complete view of a digital dash before now. Now I see why you guys that have 'em like 'em! A little dated nowadayz, but perhaps ahead of its time?? Looks very nice. Nice picture too!

The digital dash when introduced in 84 was ahead of its time. The 84 had smaller font readouts, but in 85 that was addressed with the larger font as seen on my 86. I have always liked the digital dash. Its a very complete package and is an absolute must in a car with this performance potential. Sure, its dated these days, but that makes it that much cooler to me.

great picture....but that steering wheel.....get a "sheepskin" cover.....takes a couple hours of sewing but would make your steering wheel look a lot better...and feel better.....I can't believe the difference in my 85 wheel.....:woohoo:

I had intended to replace the wheel by now. Other stuff took priority this year but over the winter I plan to do a few things to the Vette. A steering wheel is high on that list. I hate the ragged wheel. I plan on getting a recovered wheel and installing it.

Still no snow or salt in Detroit so I'm driving later than in any season in the 12 years since I moved back home from Texas! WTF is going on with the weather? :crazy:

Very cool picture. I love the Atari dash, every time I drive it I feel like I am a little kid again.
One question, what is the orange light illuminated in the lower left corner of the DIC ?

Thank you for the compliment! The little orange light is the indicator that the overdrive unit is engaged. The car is a 4+3 and any time the overdrive unit is engaged the light is illuminated.
