Sneak pic of 2020 Supras' azz comparo

Should have kept the exhaust closer to the FT-1.
At this point, it seems like the Supra is going to be a $40-50k car that cannot keep up with other cars you can buy for that $ |

BMW Stupra...
Here's an excerpt of me taunting my friend that was "waiting" for this debut...
https://www.foxnews.com/auto/toyota-supra-returns-for-2020-with-help-from-bmw It really is a BMW! I thought you were just making a joke! Wow, a turbocharged 3.0L with 335 horsepower...LOL. Let's see, I can blow the doors off of it with my wife's commuter car (Kia Stinger GT2 AWD) while my two kids sit comfortably in the BACKSEAT and wave as we go by! Oh, OR, I can force my Z06 (C7 M7) into active fuel management mode V-4 (can't really do that) and have an interesting race until we round a corner, and then you are toast again. Chevy? Win. Kia? Win. Toyota? FAIL! "HEY KIDS, THAT NEW INTAKE SURE MAKES IT EASY TO HEAR THAT SUCKING SOUND FROM THE ENGINE! Oh, my bad, that was just the Stupra we just flew by!" Side note: The wife's limping mistake (her last husband) just got his mother to lease him a new BMW X4, and after about a week it is undriveable and in the shop for long term repairs. What did Toyota get out of this? Less reliability? Terrible styling? Seems to me the last time Germany and Japan teamed-up it did not work out so well, although, ironically, their automobile industries did eventually benefit...so, perhaps, this is ironic? And the engine looks like they copied KIA! Except the Kia looks better... Stupra: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...50593c0173.jpg Wife's Stinger GT2: https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...5d7cba5cee.jpg Here, Toyota spokesman describes the sword he commissioned to rid his family of the shame he brought upon them... https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...b183554ced.jpg AND it costs 50 GRAND! Come on. Seriously? He's gonna need a bigger sword. |
This car looks too dinky and funky to have the Supra name. I remember the older MKIII and MKIV Supra had a menacing presence on the road for the time. This car would've better been called JUST a Celica and only offered a DI turbo 4 and maybe a hot tuned turbo 4 version as well. The new Supra should've been derived from the fully Japanese LC (thereby avoiding cribbing off BMW critiques) and provided with next gen. hybrid + turbo 6 power (maybe even a hot-tuned V8), and priced close to $80k up to $100k.
