79 Corvette C3 $3,999

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for a family member, and sadly his parents won’t allow him to have it. So I must sell it. Heartbreak of an experience.

The background on the car is pretty cool too, as it was also a gift to the previous owner. Her husband bought it for her, and they were slowly having work done to it while she was driving it. It ended up needing an engine, and they had a brand new one fitted (With receipt) along with a bunch of other work over the years. $10,000+ in receipts. The husband passed, and very shortly after the rear end started to make the notorious occasional noise when turning. She parked it and never got it back on the road again. This was all in California, and she moved to NC a few years back and had the car shipped here. Still just letting it sit... Finally decided to sell it, and that’s when I purchased it, where it was also going to be a gift. It’s had a salvaged title since she’s owned it. 10+ years.

It hasnt started in 10 years or so, and I haven’t tried anything. The block you can see is new, and inside the oil cap the head looks brand new. The interior needs some attention, seats are worn and door cards are also worn. Exterior door seals/top seals will need replaced. The body has a few chips, etc. This is a solid project for someone, who is seeking a project. It’s an automatic, and I would assume the rear end will still make noise (Reason it was originally parked) She never tried changing the fluid, or adding any type of additives, so who knows if that would cure anything?

Located 30 mins outside of Charlotte, NC.

$3,999

it was garaged the whole time. I just picked it up for a family member, who isn’t allowed to have it.

I have it outside under a cover at the moment.

Can you post pics of the car washed and dried? Hard to gauge interest when its covered in dust.

It’s been raining badly here, since these were posted.

Does the engine start? Anything that'd keep it from driving other than a noisy rear end?

it hasn’t ran in roughly ten years. So you would need to do all the obvious things bring trying to fire it. No I haven’t attempted to do anything with it.

Cannot day for certain, just going by what I was told from the previous owner. (Older female) so I doubt she would be lying.... I have the receipt for the new motor, and looking on through the oil cap the head looks brand new. It’s bren pouring rain here, otherwise I would take photos.

"(Older female) so I doubt she would be lying...." Bahhhaaahhhah of course not. Older woman all have Halo's over their heads.

Why the salvage title? They don't just issue those for a car that sits. Something had to happen to it.

I'm typically a chrome bumper guy but I like these early, big-window, disco cars. I've toyed with building one. It's an interesting project but driving/running 78/79 cars are selling on ebay for $6k-$7k. This one needs work (probably more than $2k-$3k) and has a salvage title. Just an observation.

Is this still available?
