What car fascinates you right now???

Lately I've been reading about and watching vids on the Ferrari 812 Superfast.

Killer car, killer price tag, killer specs, need to win the lottery and I would put one in my garage.

What car fascinates you currently?

So I’m trying to be fairly realistic with modern cars that fascinate me because I have a kid and with my Corvette it’s difficult to have “family time” with the Corvette hobby, so my hope is to eventually add a good 2+2 to my garage that is both somewhat exotic but also relatively affordable within a $50k price point which I can afford.

To those points there are two cars that are fitting those bills that fascinate me; the first gen Lotus Evora and the current BMW i8.

The Evora would be nice because not only can it be had in 2+2 option but it’s also largely Toyota drivetrain, so if need be Toyota parts can be secured. What I also like about it is how relatively unique it is but it’s styling still remains relatively fresh. Pre-400 US market Evoras stil look good in 2019. They’re also dipping sub $40K.

The i8 simply because of how utterly unqiue it is. I’ve seen a handful of them where I’m at and they have some crazy styling, particularly in the rear. They are also a 2+2 (with a bit more room than the Evora). I’d have to have one with range extension though. Their price is still well above my budget but I believe in the next half decade they’ll dip fairly well down since BMW seems to be somewhat abandoning the “i” brand (een if they did just recently create an i8 roadster). If BMW refreshes the i8 it’ll really push the old ones down in price.

The original (60'S) factory super stocks are my next collecting fascination. I owned a 65 W051 Coronet almost 30 years ago and should have kept it as they were much more affordable then.

classic 80's Chevy 'square' trucks such as below
First vehicle was an '82 longbed for $1600. Was rear-ended and destroyed, otherwise I'd still have it. Maybe some day I'll get another, though for me it'd have to have a good story behind it. Maybe an old Border Patrol vehicle or something.

Mopar Jimmy 12-30-2018 06:57 PM

The 2 Door Dodge Charger with the 1000 HP Elephant Motor that Mopar showed off at Sema. Man if they ever built that car it would be by far the most bad ass muscle car ever built!

Honestly, not the McLaren 520 or the 720 or any other super-ballah series.

The Ferrari 488 fascinates me. It's soft, but elegant lines. Overall styling. It's one of the best exotics I've ever seen. Classy without overbearing shit everywhere.

I am still loving my DD Hellcat 5k+ miles later. Got the snow tires on last week.

That's the way to do it bro. I daily drove a first year 2008 Challenger SRT8 for 6 winters, with blizzak snow tires it did better than most would expect, you just have to be smart! If Ma Mopar was REAL smart they would come out with a retro styled 1968 to 1970, two door Charger, and stick the Hell Cat and Red Eye Hell Cat engine in it, as they would sell the living piss out of that car!

That does look tasty- 800 HP!

Of the cars that I could actually justify buying, there are two that I'm waiting to see when they get released- the Viper and the ME Vette. Based on the limited info to this point, the Viper styling has a pretty big advantage IMO. Time will tell what's real and what isn't.

The factory five roadster and 33 hot rod. I don't know that I will ever own one as I don't think i can justify a second toy and don't know if I would want a car that couldn't be used for summer time commuting.

Living in Chicago where our roads suck (in quality and entertainment) its hard to justify buying "engaging drivers cars"

not fascinated but just curious about the turbo four in the new Ranger.

guess I'll just have to go drive one

Call me crazy but after all these years the Ferrari 308 has always been one of my favorites. Absolutely love this car.
