Alkycontrol nozzle leaking?
 

Hey, I just noticed a dried up puddle under my meth nozzle. My best guess is its leaking lol. Cant think of any thing else that would cause it in that location. I though siphoning maybe but I got it mounted as high as I can get it without it hitting the hood. Any thing I'm doing wrong?

I went and looked at the coupler. If it's the dark spot by the clamp I think it's a reflection. There is a very very faint spot directly under the nozzle that looks like it might have leaked there and dripped down to the bigger puddle. Any way to test it while it's on the car but not running?

Also just noticed I can turn the fitting going into the nozzle by hand but it takes some force, but I can still turn it. Should I crank it down tighter? I had the car worked on but not sure if they removed the nozzle or not.

Oh perfect, thanks. I wasn't sure if the pump actually pumped when you hit the test button. Admittedly I was thinking it only tested electrical to make sure everything was working. When I first hooked it up I'd hit the test button and expect a spray but nothing just a beep. I figured it was working because it was tuned with it when I brought it into the shop. Made 635whp.

Oh neat, it does spray! I think when I tested it the meth didnt get through the line yet. In the instructions it just said hit the test button, listen for the beep and make sure the led turns on. Didnt mention to look for spray so that was the confusion.

Anyways, I've tightened all the fittings on the nozzle end. Ill have to wait for my wife to get home to see if anything is leaking in any of the connections. Thanks for the help.

Had quite the scare. Had my wife hit the test button, still leaking. Had drips from the leak fall down on the frame next to the washer tank. Set pipe down to grab some wrenches and my dumb ass set it right on the alternator post. Spark, poof! That shit lit up fast lol. Now, ironically I just used the fire extinguisher last week to put out the fire in our fire pit. I had a rag in my hand so I started swatting at the flames and the rag caught on fire. I start slapping the flames with my hand and nothing, didnt work either. Figured I had one last chance so I freaking blew with all my might and I cant believe it went out. It was either gonna fuel the fire or extinguish it and it worked. The only thing that was damaged was a melted wire loom. I'm so grateful and lucky the tank didnt explode and I still have my car and house and wife. I screwed my finger up swatting at the flames, must have hit it on something.

man, glad you are ok and nothing got messed up... I think all of us in here running meth or built fuel systems should have a halotron extinguisher

Went to Lowes and bought 2 fire extinguishers. Never again will my garage not have a fire extinguisher.

what kind did you get?

Big size Home Pro, A, B, C extinguisher.

Can I teflon tape the threads on the right hand side of this fitting?

You'd be much better off using E6000 sealant on those threads.

the dry chemical extinguishers will put out a fire but they leave a nasty mess, if you want to try to save whatever you are using it on (your car) a halotron extinguisher would probably work better

I forgot I had some liquid teflon in my garage so I put some of that on the non AN threads. I'll let it dry and see what happens. If not I'll get some of the other stuff recommended. I was thinking I couldn't have any teflon anywhere on the threads but read differently this morning so thanks.

Thanks for that. Ya they are pretty messy but I've already got them now. I guess as long as the fires out a mess is better than a loss.

Looks like it's all sealed up and no leaks for now. Glad I caught it.
