I have the CTEK that came with my car, just get the lighter plug connector to make things simpler plus there a place to connect in the hatch.

Same here, OEM 2014 Z-51 and 2017 ZO7!

Thanks everyone. What are the differences between various different ctek models? I see one for 79 another for 104. 4 vs 8 step?

How do you guys run the cord from plug in hatch? Just shut the hatch on it? Better way to run it outside the car?

Just FYI, I ended up buying ctek 7002 for the following reasons:

- 8 step vs 4 steps
- Ability to recondition a dead/depleted battery from flat to normal
- Ability to supply power to the car without any battery.

its an extra $50, but worth it imo.

Are there remote terminals for charging the ZR1 under the hood? My BMWs all have rear batteries but redundant under-hood terminals for more convenient charging.

My car is always inside when the charger is connected, so I run the cord in through the passenger side window, then raise the window to the point that the opening is just wide enough for the cord. My concern with closing the hatch on the cord is that it might eventually deform the weatherstripping enough create a leak.

I use Deltran battery tenders on all my vehicles, motorcyles, lawn eeuipment... anything with a 12 volt. I have for many years. IMO, they are the best. Thry don’t OVERCHARGE your battery. The best way to use them is to direct wire the pig tail they supply to your battery. It provides a better hookup than the alligator clip option or cigar plug. On the ZR1, I leave the rear hatch cracked open so the cord doesnt pinch between the rubber moulding. I place a folded micro towel over the latch opening so the latch doesnt get pulled closed. The interior light turns itself off after 5-10 minutes. ~$50 at Amazon. I have around 10 of them running right now. Dont use cheap China trickle chargers. You will overcharge your battery.

Check your warranty on your CTEK charger because mine expired after two years.
