The switches are self adjusting. The sleeve slides inside the housing.

I know they are self adjusting but the new ones that are made are longer and tend to bend easy when getting in the car they are just in a bad spot on the door |
To answer your question you can’t make them shorter and if you can please tell me how it’s done |
