Or Trade - Custom Body Lift Gantry System

Gantry crane and lift system is now sold. Thank you for looking.

Some of you may have seen my body lift gantry system in person, many of you have seen me use it on my various project cars over the past five years. I built it to straddle my Bend Pack four post lift and to allow me to lift the C-3 bodies off of a variety of cars. The system consists of a Harbor Freight One Ton Gantry Crane; Two (2) One Ton Harbor Freight Trolley Cranes; And four (4) custom made lifting straps. The lifting straps I designed and had sewn for me in Michigan using a Harbor Freight towing strap setup with 2,800 pound strength. Each strap has a hook on one end you place in the trolley, and a lifting plate you put under the seam of the birdcage bottom seam. You lift by lowering the lift and the body is suspended up in the air. I would then just lower the lift and roll the chassis off of the lift. To put a body on a chassis or body dolly you just reverse this and raise the chassis or body dolly up under the suspended body. This setup can be done by a single individual, ask me how I know. Anyway, works very well and is quite effective at lifting and lowering bodies to our C-3 chassis.

I am no longer going to be lifting any bodies from the C-3 cars so I thought I would make this available to someone else that might be able to use it for their home garage.
Here are the items I used to build the setup.

I bought the gantry crane on sale for $650. I bought the trolley's on sale for $50 each. I paid $15 for the straps. I bought the lift plates and had them custom sewn which cost me $85 plus shipping. Total investment in this system (other than design and assembly) is $850.00. I would like to get $650.00 for this setup and I will help you to load it onto your flat bed trailer to take it home. It isn't new, but it is in great shape. If you have any questions please let me know. Be glad to show you the setup in person and demonstrate how it works if you wish.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you and best regards,
David Howard

Sorry David to interrupt, but I was chuckling on the use of the vice grips to keep the straps in place, I did the same thing on mine!

I use spring clamps to hold the body clamps in place ubtil the lift begins. Works like a champ.
