'74 Battery box - what weight fiberglass for repair?

'74 battery box is busted at the bottom, exposing the bottom of the battery to ground. Thinking of just re glassing it in but not sure what weight cloth & resin to use. Anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks,
MZE

Not sure what weight to use but I used a combination of the fiberglass cloth and stranded fiberglass when I rebuild my battery box and it came out nice and strong.

AND use marine resin from a boat supply house...get your roving and cloth there too....one layer of roving, then layer of cloth on top....plenty of resin, make about 1/4 inch thick, and on the existing glass really solid, so to clean it but sanitary, and maybe sand it down to fresh glass, NO FINISH/paint/grease/crap.....

Here's what I'm working with. Also looks like a vent tube through the bottom, is that supposed to connect to something?

Use matte, not cloth for your repair..

Vent tube was to vent the original battery caps outside the passenger compartment
