You're not going to believe this....

I stopped at the corner store by my house on the way home today, and as I was starting to leave the parking lot a kid in a Challenger backed out of his parking spot and right into my freshly painted front bumper. He had his music turned up too loud to hear my horn. :willy:

At least this time around the other guy's insurance is going to pay for the repairs instead of me. I just can't believe that this is three times in three or so months since I started daily driving my Vette that it's had to go to the body shop for repairs. I guess the shop can repaint the front bumper while it's in to have the back bumper fixed. I just can't believe how crappy most Texas drivers are.

Someone is trying to tell you something...

bartsky 01-14-2019 08:26 PM

Man that sucks Ed! Sorry to hear that.

C6KWJ 01-14-2019 08:34 PM

Wow the is really bad luck. Get yourself a bumper car instead

kevinkar 01-14-2019 08:39 PM

Yeah. It's time to get the hell out of Texas. Three more months and I'm outta here.

Yeah.....no. When I do get another daily driver I'm looking at an Aston Martin Vantage. One with bright neon lights all over it.

BigBoo 01-14-2019 09:29 PM

I use mine as a daily driver in Texas also. I haven't had anybody hit me...yet, but I have had several people pull out in front of me. Makes me glad I have the oversized brakes on the GS.

Jstan2014 01-14-2019 09:29 PM

Absolutely unimaginable! Once again, good luck with repairs and hopefully this will be your last trip to the body shop.

enventr 01-14-2019 10:45 PM

Wow sorry to
hear this. Too bad you do not have another car to use as a daily
driver

LowRyter 01-14-2019 10:52 PM

sorry (again)

JABCAT 01-14-2019 10:57 PM

Man, I thought for a second someone had just replied to your last post & brought it back up to the top. That sucks! I rarely drive my GS anywhere there will be a decent amount of other cars. It's become regulated to weekends & back country roads because, as you've been so unfortunate to deal with, a large percentage of drivers just do not pay attention. A couple months ago my wife backed into a parked truck - no damage to the truck but $700 repair to her car. I asked her how she managed that with her mirrors & a backup camera  Granted my daughter did say the truck was at a weird angle & too big for the parking spot it was in, but I guarantee my wife was not using her mirrors, camera or looking behind her (which is also why she has never driven the GS :yesnod:)

Unbelievable Ed!

California drivers are 100 times crappier.:D

Sorry to hear about this Ed. If I remember correctly you are moving to Arizona. Snow Birds and older people. Good Luck.

Hey now, I was 29 when I moved here and have 3 kids who were born here. Oh wait, ...that was 48 years ago. But...but, older people get better insurance rates. Hmmm? :leaving:

That's just down right bad luck. Been daily driving s Corvette since 2004 without being hit once . DFW area also. Gotta drive defensively, but that will be true wherever you move to.

Good luck with the repairs, again. :sadangel:
