Best way to store a bare block ?

I just picked up my MK IV, 454, 4 bolt block from the machine shop.
It was cleaned, boiled, magged, checked and prepared for final machining.
The shop sprayed it with Cosmoline and sealed it in an engine bag when I brought it home.
This weekend I'm building a wood create with rollers to protect it and make it easier to move around my garage until I start the assembly later this year (hopefully).
Is it best to store the bare block with the intake side down and main caps facing up, or the front facing up, or the rear facing up?
Thanks, Greg

I stored it to take as little room as possible, which means it sat on it's ass end for four years.

I had mine on a engine storage stand like this one.

Oiled and bagged. It was very easy to move around and load into my truck with engine hoist when it was time to move it for the build.

I've laid them in an old tire

Don't think it makes a diff, long as it is in the bag and cosmoline coating.

The best way to store YOUR block, is in MY garage. I will wait for your arrival.

I threw the block over my shoulder and figured with the TSA out on furlough, I could walk on the plane and toss it up in the carry-on bin.
I even told the flight attendant it was a hand delivery to you.
No luck!
Sorry.

I purchased an engine cradle today and figure that between the Cosmoline and the plastic it should be well protected.
