Hey Guys and Gals from New York

I bought a 1979 Corvette and thought it would be a great thing to join this forum and learn thing or two about my beloved coupe!

And.....

I did alot of work to this puppy and maybe I can share my knowledge... whatever that is ... and prevent someone from making a mistake.

The breeder I got the dog in my Avatar was crate trained at 8 weeks. The breeder had everything removed from a one car garage where the litter was kept. In the garage he had a very heavy duty cardboard box for every puppy with a hole cut in it. When we arrived the pups were all asleep and were all piled into a single box so that the ones furthest in could not even get out but they were asleep, warm and happy. The pups had access to all the boxes so naturally they all had the odors of the rest of the pups. When it came time to go he gave one of he cardboard boxes to every new owner.

On the way home we put him in the box but he howled for a good 90 min. before going to sleep. Once home the box was put in the living room and he took to the box immediately and would put himself to bed in the box because it was familiar. As he grew the box was too small but he chewed the hole bigger so he could get in. Eventually the box was just replaced with a regular crate.

Crates are much safer when transporting dogs in vehicles as long as the crate is secured.
