Cool 1960 big block
I recently got a phone call from a friend who said he knew of a 1960 Corvette for sale. The car was owned by an elderly widow in a small Ohio town. When we opened the garage door, there sat a beautiful Roman Red 1960 corvette. Other than the 4 - ET bullet mags, the car looked all original with beautiful paint and trim. The red interior was original and near mint. Now comes the crazy part, when I lifted the hood I couldn't believe my eyes. There was a 427/425 hp engine with a 1967 tri power set up. This was an absolutely un-cut chassis or body with a stock hood that closed without a scoop. The 4 speed Muncie had a classic flat bar Hurst shifter. Turns out that the widow and her husband bought the car in 1963 and were the second owners. The car was never wrecked and retained it's original factory paint which is like new. Under the work bench was the original 283/245 hp engine complete with the factory 2-4 barrels and aluminum air cleaner. The couple drag raced and showed the car for years. The 60 Corvette turned an impressive high 12's at the local drag strip. I also found in the corner of the garage the original wheels, hubcaps and many other parts. Lots of cool paper work including the window sticker that showed the car was sold new in nearby Niles,Ohio. I was so blessed and happy to become the third owner. I will enjoy cruising around in this "rocket ship fast," 1960 Corvette...
