C7 ZR1 race seat installation questions
Has anyone ever installed Sparco racing seats in their C7 Corvette? If so what base did you use? Is the bolt pattern the same on a C6 and C7? I Just ordered Sparco racing seats for my ZR1. Sparco said they could not guarantee that their seat mounting base (series 600) would fit . They haven’t designed a new base since 2013 Corvettes and can’t tell me if it will fit. |

Back to OP, I've done some research on it. Nobody makes one for C7 ZR1 yet. The shop at Spring Mountain told me they had to have one fabbed.
Your issue was wanting to physically lower the stock seat, not something you can just buy. |
Guys, I've deleted all of the off topic discussion. The OP's question was about Sparco seats....let's talk about that.

Thanks for keeping me on subject also. Lol This is everything I ordered. Trying to replace my factory seats with race seats. They told me that they might work but my butt will be 2 inches higher than my factory seat which will push my head into the ceiling . Trying to find another bass that won’t push my head into the ceiling. Plus I like to sit close to the steering wheel so sliders are a must . What company is best?https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...095b540e0.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...2100e1b3a.jpeg |
I would recommend you delete the sliders and look into a fixed mount set up. You can still mount the seat close to the wheel so you are comfortable but getting in and out does become more cumbersome in any race seat with tall side support.
This should get the seat nice and low, and generally provide more headroom than the stock seat (depending on the seat you choose - I have no personal experience with the Sparco Pro-2000ii but it appears similar to most race seats). The only issue is the seat no longer slides, obviously, so you will need to do some trial and error to get it mounted exactly right where you want it. The link below should provide you the mounts you need. https://amtmotorsport.com/products/c...low-seat-mount |
Thanks all for the shout outs. If head room is a concern you'll never be able to get a side mount seat low enough on sliders to gain any headroom. They all lift the seats up far too high. The ultimate low solution is our seat mount with a Sparco QRT-R. That seat is molded with bottom portion about 3/4" lower than the rest of their seats. I actually have one in my office ready to install on my own car. Pic attached.

The brackets we had made at a local fabrication shop, specific to the seat, bolted to it and not on a slider..you would need to find a place, and explain what you’re trying to do…as your needs may differ from our setup. You can put the seat a little closer, or further depending on your size/needs. So they’d kind of have to customize it to you. There are many out there, but we found that in order to get the seat as low as possible, we had to bolt it to the four seat studs that are from the original mounting locations. Hope this helps! |
The bolt spacing is same as C5/6, but the floor pan has some small variances adjacent to the tunnel and the C7 carpet is much thicker as well as having a thick wiring harness that runs flat under the middle of the seating area. I am in the process of installing a custom fit Ultrashield in my 2014 using Mark (AMTs) mounts.

I think I’m going to choose this mount. Someone mentioned this brand and I showed my buddy that’s going to help install and he told me this should work. I’ve heard that there is an airbag sensor and a stability control sensor Under the seat that I have to do something with. Any of you guys know anything about that? Putting seats in this car is turning out to be way over my head. Haha |
If you would, let me know how this works. Looks pretty simple.

The Sparco base did not work. I ended up using the Vette Works base. I found my Evo ll seat base is to wide for the C7 tunnel where the emergency door release is located. It resulted in having my seat just barley work for me. When I replace it, I will go with a seat that has a narrower width. |
Not a lot of FIA seats fit well in these cars. I'm in the middle of a custom Ultrashield install. No need to cut the carpet up. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...cacdb3d473.jpg |

Do any of these race seats give you the ability to use the 3 point belts? I still have to drive to and from the track. Thanks |
Checking in to see if you've gotten something that worked well for you.
