Go to the Audio/Electronics page of this forum, all sorts of info there https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...lectronics-20/

Depends on what you want to upgrade. Do you have the Bose stereo or the base? Regardless, go to Crutchfield, put in your vehicle info and it will show you some options.

From there, if it is just a modern head unit you want, almost all double din units fit. For the speakers in the sail panels (on the side walls behind the seats), you will have options there in the same size as OEM. For the dash speaker, most will say you should get rid of it, but there are also aftermarket options available in that size. The door panels have two speakers, a smaller one and a larger one. If you want direct upgrades for these, there are a few options for the smaller speaker, but none for the larger speaker. Universally, everyone in the audio section will tell you to switch the doors to a 6.5 component set, then add an amp and a sub in the back. Of course, if you actually use your storage in the back that will not be possible and you would be better off sticking with the OEM drivers because 6.5s will never give you the bass the OEM speakers will.

I upgraded the 3.5 speakers in the doors and the 5.25 speakers in the rear with some relatively cheap aftermarket ones and the sound is noticeably better. I'm not saying it's awesome, but for the little bit I use it it's good enough, and the stock speakers just pissed me off every time I turned them on

I spent $10 and bluetoohed my '08 base system. Can play about 3000 songs off my phone. One of the best audio upgrades I ever did.

And I can answer and talk on the phone, get directions, etc.

Simple upgrade would be to replace all the speakers with quality High DP efficiency speakers. Makes a big difference. This will hold you over till you can save up for a head unit.

I had my system updated 2.5 years ago.
I didn't have Bose to start with.
this is what I had put in because I really like to feel my music.

Kenwood Excelon DNX892 - Built in NAV
Kenwood Excelon XR900-5
5-channel car amplifier — 60 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

2 JL Audio 8W3v3-4 W3v3 Series 8" 4-ohm subwoofer
2 JL Audio C2650 Evolution™ C2 Series 6-3/4" component speaker system
2 Kicker 40CS54 5-1/4" 2-way car speakers

I spent a small fortune but I'd do it again.
