Time to say goodbye....

Friday I traded my GS for a 2018 M2. I'd been really torn for the past couple months, considering getting something else. I loved that car, but the blindspots for me were terrible. I was never 100% confident changing lanes. I also always buried my fear about the A8 tranny and cracked/bent rim issues. Just seemed like every day someone new would pop on with an issue.

Came across a blue M2 at my local BMW dealer and made the switch. So far I'm really liking it. Got the manual tranny and with 365hp and that twin scroll turbo, it's a blast. And I can actually see out the windows!

Anyway, just wanted to thank you all, especially a few of you who I got to know a little more via PM's and emails.

Also, I have a few things to sell, so I'll be posting those in the For Sale section this weekend. Unfortunately, the Atak went with the car. We didn't feel like pulling the exhaust for a third time.

Enjoy your cars, whatever they may be!

Nice color, enjoy the beemer!

Congratulations! They are a cool car. I preferred the M3 though for the 4 doors and better creature comforts. The M2 is pretty good on the track though.

Now that you're driving a Beemer, don't forget to hang below the speed limit in the fast lane and cut everyone else off! And remember that turn signals are more of a suggestion than a rule

(seriously though, congrats, enjoy your new ride)

Well, obviously I didn't need the 4 doors since I was coming from a 2 seater Vette :) I prefer coupes for my DD and even though I don't need a backseat, I do have one in a pinch.
I'm not really familiar with BMW's as this is my first. I did sit in an M4 and it was really nice, definitely larger.

Well shoot, I did that in my Vette! Hahahaha!

Thanks Ken :)

Love the M2, it's a sweet ride, and you picked an awesome color too! I'm a big BMW fan, I enjoyed helping my dad break in his brand new 1988 325is back in the day (I was 18 years old) and my wife has a 2010 328i X Drive (not as much fun to drive as the 325is was, but still a very nice car!)

Fun car, sell it before the warranty expires though.

The M3 and 4 are basically the same car minus a couple doors. The powertrain is great. Will hang with the LT1 in most situations. A drivers race for sure. M2 is very close in performance and just a bit smaller. I had a 16 M3 prior to getting my Z. It’ was a great daily driver.

Enjoy your new ride.

Gonna miss ya Stacee, but I do understand. Blind spots are a big problem for my wife, and that's the reason she would rather not drive the Vette. Remember, you may have traded for a BMW, but you still have information to offer newbie's about the Vette. So hang around some, and don't be a complete stranger. Enjoy the new ride.

If you're a Doug DeMuro fan, it's his choice as one of the best performance cars you can buy..period. Enjoy and even though it's
not a Vette we all share our love of cars for the sake of driving, not just getting to a destination. Have fun and stay safe.

I never understood the blind spot issue with the C7, especially when the mirrors are adjusted properly, but many still complain. Had a few Beamers and agree that it’s best to sell before the warranty runs out, but good luck and enjoy.

Nice blue. Looks kind of like a Hyundai or Lexus. All of the Asian & German two doors with the back seat have blended together on styling. I have no blind spots while driving my C7 convertible. I'll keep my C7 - at least 'til the C8s come out.

Same here. There are NO blinds spots on the convertible C7.

Is that the new Supra?

I agree with Doug's take - mainly the size of the M2 is perfect. The C7 is too big on the outside and too small on the inside, except for the hatch which is massive. The M2 is easier to get in and out of, so it makes sense for many people. My wife wanted one badly after a test drive... but it was not on my radar since I wanted a 2 seater hatch configuration.

The C7 is 10X better then my Nissan 350Z - that thing had blind spots big enough for semi trucks to hide in. So it depends on what you are used to. Plus after a few near misses you get to the point where you don't trust things anymore. At that point you might as well get rid of the car because all the joy is sucked out of it.
