Daily driver

How many of you are using the vette as daily driver , going to work, grocery etc and how does it fulfill the needs?
Just started looking at the stingray and wondering if I can replace my M3 with the vette as a daily driver, it won't be a garage queen.

Hey! I'm offended! My snowflake C7 self identifies as a Garage-"King". Everything in that damned garage is there to support that car. (sorry, can't help :D )

I daily mine... the hatch configuration means it holds plenty of cargo. In fact its the wife's preferred Costco trip vehicle as it holds nearly twice what her Infiniti Q60 can. Only real downsides would be gas mileage and ease of parking.

All my 'vettes have been daily drivers. Comfy, fun to drive, look getter...

(have a truck for serious hauling)

Great to know that, why is it difficult to park , due to visibility issues or it's too wide? I guess the mirrors dont have power folding feature

I DD mine no complaints whatsoever, well besides watching out for road imperfections, but that's not the cars fault

There are three C7 owners at work. Two drive to work every day. Then there is me.

All true. Mainly its low to the ground so you gotta watch curbs, entrance ramps and vehicle stops. I tend to back into most spots as my '14 doesn't have the front cameras. Plus like many 2 door sports cars the doors are long combined with the car being wide means it can be tight getting in & out with other cars next to you. Basically it is not parking lot friendly. For example at work I park in area nobody else uses just to give myself extra space.

Been daily driving my C5 and now C7 for 20 years. No complaints other than you're more inclined to get a door scratch (can often be buffed off) and some parking spots are way too thin for my GS. On the other hand, I have a big smile every day I drive it.

During Spring, Summer and early Fall-mine is a DD.

Big Lebowski 01-27-2019 06:03 PM

I use my Z06 as my DD from April 1st through Thanksgiving. It’s great...love it. The only thing I’m limited by is number of passengers.

:iagree: but it's a 71

pnsnkr 01-27-2019 06:08 PM

The 'vert is a DD and yes, I do curbside grocery shopping in it.

Avanti 01-27-2019 06:43 PM

I used my C5 as my daily driver for over four years; no issues. I don't see why the C7 would be any different. :yesnod:

JK 23112 01-27-2019 06:59 PM

No way would my C7 ever serve as "daily driver" -- especially in the winter months. My Honda Accord handles that.

Now, if I lived in Florida, things might be different. To each his own.

CocoVette 01-27-2019 08:26 PM

Use it as my daily, very comfy and quiet. There is quite a bit of comfortable trunk space to fit groceries, and children, lol jk, don't have any.

Vetteman Jack 01-27-2019 08:37 PM

My C7 is not a daily driver, especially in the winter. In fact, I doubt it will be a DD in the summer, but I do plan to drive it a lot more than my last Vette.

devnull 01-27-2019 08:41 PM

I drive the snot out of mine on a daily basis... :D

If it is clean I generally drive the truck when raining, but that's a laziness thing.
