New stereo with front and rear cameras installed

Installed my new Pioneer AVH601EX that my wife got me for Christmas along with 2 Pyle cameras (front and rear)
replaced my factory Nav system in my 06.
wow what a difference in sound with just the head unit replaced.
Also wanted to stream music and have my phone on Bluetooth.
Took me about a day on and off. Love the front camera now i can see the edge of my splitter.

That’s a pretty cool system. The picture from the cameras is clearer than most factory-installed systems, which is surprising.

You posted this in the wrong section of the forum, though.

Good job! Yea I have an 08 with Kenwood in my garage and a 17 GS. I love the image quality of my Kenwood compared to the stock 17 camera. Plus I can watch movies, if so inclined, and turn cam on going forward.

How did you like your RP5-GM11 ?

The guys at crutchfield just sent me one after the initial Crux box had issues.
I'll be tearing mine all apart again to swap it out this week when I can find time.

Looks great. I recently added the front camera as well & should've done it a lot sooner.

works great and comes with a new chime module. We got the stereo on Amazon as it was $100 less than crutchfield otherwise I would have had them wire up the harness for me when I ordered the install kit. Wasn’t too difficult though, just looks intimidating at first.

Does the camera record?

FWIW I'm on my 3rd RP5-GM11 & still can't get all the steering wheel buttons to work correctly. I finally got the volume + - to function correctly, but none of the other buttons work. I've been on the phone with PAC customer service (why I'm on the 3rd ) & just said forget it as I don't want to keep pulling the dash apart to mess with it.

Really cool. Making one of my favorite C6’s even better.

From what I understand it's supposed to match the colors of the factory wires.
I'm hoping it works like it's supposed to, I'm using a Pioneer head unit also.
I'm glad to hear it works well for you.

That sucks... I've heard great stuff and these things as well.... I'm hoping I can make this one work correctly with my setup. I don't want to keep tearing the dash out either.

Most aftermarket cameras have a far better picture than oem. I was surprised when I installed my first pair as well.

Looks nice, I think you'll be really happy with the Pioneer, I have the Pioneer AVIC 8200 NEX installed in mine with the front and rear cameras also, it's a great system.

That great cool weather we are having down here right now. Love a break from the heat.

That really looks great as so does your car. Maybe I’ll see it at one of the S. Florida shows.

With the RP5-GM11, some report that they have difficulty getting the steering wheel buttons programmed to the way they want them. The RP5 steering controls do come pre programmed with some generic settings. Volume should of been pre-programmed, most report having a hard time getting the phone end and answer to function as intended. If you are ever willing to give it a try, I would suggest getting the RP4-GM11. I don't know if you call Pac if they are willing to send you one free of charge, but many members have reported that programming the S/W controls were a breeze to program on the RP4. I think you lose OnStar retention with the RP4, but if that is a non issue it could work for you.

Can someone please link me to the cameras that work with this and summarize if there are any tricky spots in the install (or if it is pretty much plug & play)?
This unit is on sale near me and while this upgrade wasn't on my radar (so I'm out of touch with the details), I would definitely enjoy it.
TIA
