Reconnecting battery question

The battery has been disconnected on my '07 at the negative terminal for a couple of weeks. The seats (Air bag equipped) and interior have been removed for new skins and sound deadening. The interior is back in the car but the seats are not ready to reinstall. Will I have any steering wheel air bag, or other unexpcted issues besides the window index, without the seats installed and the battery reconnected? Thanks

I had mine disconnected recently and reconnected. As soon as I connected the lights went on...which scared me a little lol...but only had to index windows re-set the clock.... It did take a few miles for hvac to work properly. On the display everything was not illuminated as it was before... I think fan speed didn't show ...but came back up after 10 miles or so...

I would just make sure the fob is not present when you re-connect but I am not an expert...(connect the positive first)

good luck

I suspect you'll get an air bag code. I don't know if C6 air bag codes clear on their own. On some cars (such as Mercedes) they don't, so you have to use a suitable scan tool to reset the light.

Thanks! I will wait until the seats are ready to reinstall before reconnecting the battery. When I disconnected the battery I only removed the negative terminal, the positive terminal was never removed. After doing a deep search here there seems on occasion to be strange gremlins after the negative terminal is reinstalled. I dread having a bunch of issues to resolve.

I had my seats out several times & no issues with them out & the battery connected. I even moved my car from one garage spot to another without seats in it - very hard to see over the steering wheel and operate the clutch & gas

The reason I disconnected the battery was on advise from this forum because of possible air bag deployment when the seat harness was unplugged. Now I get the idea that that may not have been the case. I just hope I haven't caused myself a allot of issues because of the disconnected battery.
