Another 63 for my 63
Now that I have got my 63 SWC well sorted I am off on the next project. If any of you have experience in XKE's let me know as I have started to tackle the next project. I have a bunch of metal work on the tub to do but at least the car is not very rusty. It is a numbers matching car but, as you can see, it is pretty solid.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...0763450b80.jpg Doors have no rust which is good for a jag https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...c9717b8d15.jpg Rocker is a mess as the car was hit just ahead of the firewall https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...df9205aa65.jpg Car was originally Carmen Red so it fits with the rest of the cars in the garage https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...1af3338f03.jpg This is an all numbers matching car. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...abec052f6b.jpg This is the status of the engine at the moment. Needs everything but is complete needs a little bit of work. |
Where's the rest of it? Good luck with it! |
boxes and boxes and boxes. its all there. the car only has 34000 miles on it. one owner. took it apart in 1986 and got sidetracked.
|
"Sidetracked" is kind! Great project but you have your work cut out for you. Good luck going forward.
|
Should be a fun project. Looking forward to following the progress.

one of the prettiest cars shapes ever for a car. What are your plans with it? Factory original? drivers quality, show quality, restomod?

Xke
Actually, I do have experience in them. Make sure you check the front frame box section for prior damage/repair. Run a magnet along the square tubing ir blast it to make sure its solid. Have it checked for alignment prior to installing anything. even if motor was rebuilt already. Pull head, check surface and put new fresh headgasket in. |
I'm doing a coupe right now it was nearly rust free from sitting for 30 years. I was a Jaguar mechanic from the early 70's to mid 80's. If you need any repair panels Chuck at Monocoque metalworks in Elkton Md. can make almost anything you need. I visited his shop while up north for Carlisle last year very impressed with his operation.

I am going to restore the car back to JCNA show level. It is going to take a lot of work because it needs floors and rockers but the good news is that the rest of the car is pretty good and is a no hit car so at least the bonnet is very good. When I get down the road a bit I will post pics of the progress

Kudos to you for bringing one of the prettiest cars ever back from the grave. The early XKE's have always been a favorite....a neighbor had a yellow '62 when I was a little kid in the mid '60's and would give me rides....I can still hear that great exhaust sound. When the new '68's came out, I was crushed (at 7 years old) because they had, in my mind,' ruined' the tail lamps and head lamps.

For math, yes.
But, a CC statement will not show what was purchased, only a name and total. For example your statement may show Staples Office Store, but the purchase could be a non deductible Xmas gift for children. So, as mention unless you are audited - okay. In audit, you need to show what was purchased and even more info if for meals. QuickBooks can be beneficial if you need a balance sheet & Inc Stmt for bankers as an example. For expenses, yes a spreadsheet can do. Good luck. |

Upholstery Complete while waiting for some metalwork parts. Both seats came from one hide. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...3953c880fd.jpg Rear end restored with single brake bleeder modification https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...a0648bedbb.jpg Nothing left but to put on the hub carriers Project came to a little bit of a stop because the engine had to go to a specialty machine shop in Tustin, California to have a small crack in the water jacket stitched. Other than that the body work is coming along pretty well. I am waiting for the rocker boxes and when we start putting it back together I will upload a few photos. |

Great progress I finished mine last fall. Wait till you get to drive you wont be able to stop smiling. My jag gets more looks than my 63 SWC.

I agree with you, the Jag gets a lot more looks than my 63 SWC. This is my second Jag to restore as the OTS is to go with my coupe.

Motor is back in the convertible. Might try to start it in the next few days. The virus has been helpful to make time to get this done.
