2019 Dodge Scat Pack Challenger
6.4 L, 485hp/475tq, 8 speed, 6 piston Brembos w/15.4" rotors
Anyone have insight on this fat, over weight, gas guzzling pig? Would it be any good for a daily driver with fuel economy at 15 city, 23 hwy? |

I have a 17 Charger Scat Pack after owning 10 Challenger 6 sp. It sits next to my 08 LS3.
The Scat has all the features you could ask for. Mine does not have, by choice, a sunroof, lane departure, or adaptive cruise control. But, mine has the Hellcat Wheels and brake package. Sumbitch runs like stink. All for under 40k. |
I don't understand the appeal of a heavy horribly handling monstrosity (Challenger & Charger). I guess drag racing maybe? Idk. Don't get it.

I had a 10 Challenger and currently have a 17 Charger. I believe that both chassis are some form of the Mercedes design. My Challenger handled pretty good after I installed coil overs, adjustable A-frames, adjustable rear camber bushings, and front/rear strut bars. If you compare feature of my 17 Scat Pack to a 17 Corvette I have all the features for about 50 to 70k less and that makes the weight and handling issues acceptible. Beside I have a 08 LS3 3LT Coupe sitting in the stall next to the Scat. |

The weight is what kills it for me. Not interested in street racing or drag racing so for me the added weight = slower lap times. No way around it. I get why they sell though.
I would have one and do burnouts like crazy. The T/A handles pretty damn good too. |

The appeal for me is it's the best looking retro, performance car of the 3 (Challenger, Camaro, Mustang). It's the only one with any luggage space, that can actually accept passengers in the rear. Yes, it's heavy but it's actually fuel efficient on the highway with the 8 speed auto and cylinder deactivation. Not as fast as the 6.2 Hemi or the Hellcats and Demons, but it will suit our purposes perfectly and at a reasonable price point. |

I have a daily driver R/T with the 5.7L Hemi and 6-speed manual transmission along with the Super Track Pack option. It's also loaded with a bunch of creature comfort options...... I Love that car. |
How about a Chevrolet SS? I bought a 2017 a few months ago. You can find one with an M6 if you want.
LS3, dual mode exhaust, MRC suspension (handles incredibly well), values are holding steady. I believe it is a tick slower than the Scat Pack stock for stock. It's a bit of a sleeper, rare, and no longer made. Most don't recognize anything special about it, but I can't stop and wash it without being hammered with questions and oohs and ahhs! Seeing the pic above mine, I realize you said Challenger, not Charger.. you're probably not looking for a 4 door. Good Luck!

I own a 2016 Challenger with the 5.7 Liter, 6-Speed, 3.90's in the rear. I love the car, more than the 2001 Mustang Bullitt I used to own. The Challenger is my baby and is only driven on nice days and stored in the winter. It only get about 18 to 20 mpg so the 6.4 Liter is going to use more gas. With the 8 speed automatic though it may be okay as a daily driver, but with that big of an engine you are going to be lucky to get anything over 22 mpg on the highway.

That red really pops. I feel that its going to be quite a change from the C7 cabin! It's like going backwards in time, as the cabin looks like your living room whereas the C7 looks like a jet fighter cockpit. I'll miss that. |

I've had three and love them all...My last is a 2016 scatpack shaker...They handle plenty well for a boulevard cruiser. They are big but corner extremely flat and easy to control with the go pedal. 392 is awesome. View is fine....Rarely does the fat b pillar bother you...uconnect is the best out there. My car runs 0-60 in 4.3 all day long granny starting by dumping the clutch at 1400 rpms and its a stick... My a8 Stingray ran 4.0 same stretch many times. Not a big difference for that 1000 pounds lol... They are very nice fun cars...Oh, rural, small town mpg 21 all day long and on a trip 24. Hard to get less than 17.. Even though its fat, the gearing, 392 power and the tranny ratio of the z51 corvette manuals and 3:90 gearing and set-up makes for lots of fun oh shit grins on the street. |
'16 hellcat challenger owner here and I love the car and would love the 392 SP or full SRT as well. It's a roomy and comfortable car. It looks great and sounds even better. It just has character that chevy's just don't have. Big back seat , I can stand in the back floor board and buckle my son into his baby seat... I'm 6'2" 250 lbs ..

‘17 Challenger Hellcat owner here.
