I ran an AutoCheck report on it before buying and it came back clean. Just a few years earlier, I had parted with my 1987 Convertible after 13 years of caring ownership. I find this 1996 is more refined and performs better than my 1987, which is expected as with any newer model. It has few rattles (Only when driving on some Western PA lousy roads) and runs like new. There are not too many 1996 fully optioned and stock examples available for my reasonable price. My wish was to preserve this classic C4 Corvette in its original pristine condition. Fine examples as this one have bottomed out on depreciation. Enjoy driving this fine classic without spending countless dollars on repairs found in many cheaper Corvettes for sale. Performance Handling Package (Z51) Details:: Special upgrade package that provided improved suspension components. Corvette is located 15 miles east of Pittsburgh. This option included Bilstein shocks, special front and rear springs, stabilizers and bushings, 17×9.5 inch wheels with P275/40ZR17 tires. Required Power Driver and Power Passenger seats when ordered. Was available on Corvettes ordered with either an automatic or manual transmission, but when equipped on an automatic, the performance axle ratio option (G92) 3.07 was also required. First time this option was available on the Corvette since 1991. Please contact me for additional information, photos, or videos. Very nice. Was the Optispark changed when the water pump replaced? |
Thanks. No the Optispark was not replaced.Shortly after purchasing, I had my mechanic (Who has worked mostly on Corvettes for over 30 years at local Chevy dealerships) go completely over the car. A tiny leak was discovered shortly before any damage to the Optispark happened. The previous owner did not use it much during his final years of ownership. This made me suspicious of the water and fuel pumps, which I replaced along with the fluids, serpentine belt, and filters. It is now very dependable with those issues eliminated.
