LSXr 102 manifold/oil question
I just bought a 102mm and was wondering if I need a 102mm TB too or can I run the stock TB and just port it? Car has a BTR 3 cam and heads have been "fixed". Car also has TSP headers and off road x pipe. Love the car and my tuner has it running smooth. I plan on pulling heads soon and having them milled/ported to push for that 600whp goal. Thanks in advance for any advice/input.
Also while here, after 1st oil change I had a lot of "fairy dust" in the oil. Had it changed, ran the car a bit and pulled the filter, cut it and oil was clean. Oil pressure is 60psi+ at WOT and idles at about 30-35psi hot. Any ideas on this? |
The NW102 throttle body is good for 5-10 whp depending on the rest of your setup...
I wouldnt worry about upgrading it until you do your heads... At that point you will likely need injectors as well, if you arent already close to needing them anyway. |
You think I would need injectors at the 600whp goal? What would you recommend? I was asking if I could use the stock TB with the 102. As of now I'm leaving it off till I pull the heads to get them worked on.

Yes, you can use the stock tb, ported or stock on the 102.

The FAST uses ls2 height(tall) injectors(with an LS3 fuel rail). To use LS3/LS7 height injectors you have to use spacers, I didnt want to. That brought the options to FIC and FAST. The FAST injectors, at the time, didnt have good reviews. So I went with FIC. They have a tall injector that runs the LS3/7 plug. I want to say I went to 60lb, but might have been the 52lb version. I would check with your tuner and see what the IDC is before spending 400 bucks on injectors. I think after injectors I was in the low 70's on duty cycle. |
I'll have to see with my tuner on that. Its tuned on 93 now so I think IDC is not too high. Thanks for all the replies. Hoping to start tearing into it soon. Hopefully weather starts warming up a bit. Ready for some late night Mexico trips.
