Which Wheels should I choose??
Hello Everyone,
I’m looking to update my wheel and tire package for my 85 Vette. I like a staggered look but not sure if that is the best option for cruising. I would like the entire package to cost no more than $1700.00. I have discovered the 2013 Grand Sport Front Wheels are 40 mm. The requirements I have are: 1) No spacers required 2) 38-40 mm offset 3) maintain my 9.5 tire width or go a bit wider 4) I do not want 16” wheels. Here are a few pictures of options I like. Which wheels would you choose and why? https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...eb17bb1f24.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...cc25901a6e.png https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...c4d65acbeb.png https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...37176274c1.png https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...19c24f473a.png https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...5d5f3beb3c.png https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...4b7febc3bc.jpg |

I would hold out for a used set of forged wheels for that much money.

I wouldnt run c6 grand sport wheels personally. Tires for them are VERY expensive, and limited in selection. Tires alone will be 1000-1500 for them. It's the biggest downside of my c6gs.

Idk......those ralleys looked pretty Sweet!!

I am partial to these. Here is a link to OE Wheels. That is where mine originally came from. My buddy with a 90 also bought from them and the quality and price are good. I know you have an 85, the 1st year they start listing for Corvettes is 88 that is why I picked 88 in the filter. Which ever wheel you choose, get a set that will complement the color of your car.

Here's another option, close to what you have shown. I got mine in 18"x9.5" 40 backspace. Add 255x40zr18" tires to it and they fit just like the originals did. Don't even have a change in the speedometer. They are reproduction rims and be gotten in multiple finishes too. I obviously like them as I bought them myself.

Edited my post.
I am running C6 Z06 black wheels and what seems to differentiate them is the polished lip with Motorsport bolts. I’ve not seen others running these and have had them 9 years. Rears are 295/35 18 with 10.5” wheels. Fronts are 275/35 18 with 9.5” wheels. Not sure where you can find them now (if anywhere) but thought I’d share for potential inspiration. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...db2eecfb2.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...b731653f3e.jpg |
I love the look of the old school rally's with the raised white letters. Reminds me of high school.
I'd like to find that set-up for my 96. |

I just had my 86 painted over the winter and, like you, I am looking around for a custom set of wheel to finish off the outside look. Following this thread and looking at every posting. Still looking ,so far tho.
