Z06 head mod question
I picked up a salvage car and it looks like it was loved...had a carbon fiber C6.R intake, headers, MSD starter, etc. I pulled off the valve covers and it was the cleanest top end I’ve ever seen.
Does anyone know if there is a EASY visual way to tell if the heads on a Z06 have been modified? That is, do I have to remove the valve springs to inspect? What should I look for?...just bronze valve guides? any help appreciated!! |
Does it have black ARP head bolts? That’s usually an indicator but some like myself used new OEM torque to yield bolts when we R&R’d the heads.
Post some pics! Of the car and the damage too. I have rebuilt a number of Copart cars :thumbs: |
Great idea! It was kind of a basket case...basically got hit really bad in the back. Trying to think of a project to put it in! ;>}

Pull a valve spring off and look at the guides (material)
