Can't imagine doing that, particularly with a 6-speed...:willy:

i think its bc you sit so low in the car as it is with seats !

I guess it depends how tall you are. No way I could see well enough without at seat, but I'm not very tall.

I have about 1/2" headroom with a glass top. This may be a viable option!

Not in the C4, but in another car I used a low foot step stool so I could move the car around at the shop parking lot with the seats removed w/o having to enlist a crew of 'pushers".

But! You may have struck upon a solution for those ppl over 6' tall. A modified seat - perhaps with the cushion planted on the floor, perhaps would solve the low roof issue for some, no? Hmmmm.....

one time when i had the interior out of the 89 i sat on a crate and drove around the block. wasn't too bad except for when i had to push in the clutch.

I removed my bottom seat pad and folded a small blanket to fit int the bottom seat shell to get as low as i can without a different seat. Its the only way it feels right to drive the car. And I am not tall I am 5'10"

I think a few guys sit on the shifter in leu of the seat option

Would seem a little weird at first but if I ever remove my seats, I'll give it a try, lol.

nice idea. Under the bucket would be a great place to hide your beer.

My friend and I installed a Hurst shifter in his Barracuda in the very early '70s. Wanted to test it out before reinstalling the seats, so we drove it around the neighborhood. From the outside, it looked like the car was driving itself. Wouldn't you know, we got pulled over by a cop! He must have been a gearhead, though, since he just gave us a warning and followed us back to my friend's house.
