Ceramic Coating cost?
 

What is the average cost of this procedure just for the paint and not the wheels.

I was quoted 1,500. They first do a paint correction, they apply the coating, let it dry, coat again. It was a 2-day process. I turned away from it bc, i enjoy detailing my car.

A lot of factors come into play with this question

• What is the condition of the paint - swirls scratches, etc A car that just came off the trailer versus on stored in the garage over the winter that was used as a shelf for cardboard boxes
• What are you looking for for a finish
  • Lifetime warranty
  • 1-3 years lifespan
  • 3-5 years lifespan
• Product being used This is an absolute MUST - Make sure they are using a well know product for anything over $750,
• I won't go into the lower end as it depends on your budget

In Silicon Valley I would do a Ceramic Pro lifetime warranty for around $3500-$5000, that included paint correction,and people would not even blink an eye In other parts of the country that is outrageous
The absolute minimum in my shop was $1500
But then my 1450 sq ft home built in 1968, is now being priced at $1.1 million and people are paying cash.
So you have to figure geography in the mix. I would go over to the Southwest Section and ask there, you will get more realistic prices.

I've seen others in the midwest start at $700-$850 with $1200-$1500 being the upper end typically. Again, depends on condition of the paint and level of coating desired. The goal is to get the finish as perfect as possible before applying the coating and this is where most of the cost is associated. You do get what you pay for in these prep steps.

Something to also note is even after the coating is applied you will still have to take the vehicle in on a regular basis to "refresh" the coating (apply more silica) in order to keep the coating in top shape and to keep any warranty the coating company provides. Schedules vary but every 6 months or so is typical. Do make sure the detailer is a certified installer of the coating you are choosing otherwise there could be warranty issues. Same with getting the coating refreshed. Lots, if not all, of these coatings can be bought online by anybody but this doesn't necessarily mean the company warranties the installers work.

For my 2017 ZO6. He had the car for 4 1/2 days. Corrected paint, washed, clay bar, and coated. Wheels, interior and engine area. Cost me 1000. The regular price was 2k. Got a discount because of relationship. It has a 10-year guarantee. Produce used was from Gtechniq.

You know good points above and let me add, standard car washes diminish the qualities of the ceramic. If you wash your car at home you need to go here Ceramic Car Washes and determine which Wash works for you. -
Washing a Ceramic is a bit unique,as you need to make sure you use the right products. Meguiars, Zaino, Turtle Wax washes, etc put a very microscopic layer of "stuff" on the surface, slowly diminishing the qualities of the ceramic coating.
This is one of the subtleties of ceramic maintenance.

The way you wash and dry the car changes also... I use the following products in the soap cannon and in the wash water, just a capful or 2 in each.

Try not to touch the surface, the less you touch the surface the longer your coating will last..

I wash my car with a soap cannon and rinse with the pressure washer and dry with a blow dryer never touching the car.. Did this for 3 months

Then I used 5 microfiber towels in wash water, get a new towel for the each new panel. The old towel never gets put back into the clean soapy water.
1 for the top of the car
1 for the left side
1 for the right side
1 for the back
1 for the hood/front

Then rinse and dry the same as above not touching the car.. I have done this 3 times in almost a year and getting ready to do it the 4rth time

As a bonus you can pull into a car wash (not a drive through), spray the car off and drive to work, the car will be dry if your work is over 5 miles...

To the OP. I got a 1 year coat done for $700 with paint correction. I see you're in Parker. I live in Wylie and had it done is Plano. Shoot me a PM and I will give you the details. Great guys. They also redid my clear bra on the rockers.

I purchased a ceramic coating kit online. I followed the videos and instructions. It took about a total of 16 hours ton complete the application, including breaks. I first washed my 17 GS in Dawn detergent. then clay bar. then wipe down with alcohol. Kind of easy. Then began applying the coating in two foot squares, let it dry about 25 seconds, then wipe off. I was totally amazed at the finished product. No swirls and a glass like finish. I was more than pleased.
So much so that I applied it to my GMC Sierra, with the same results with the same bottle, over a year ago.
At about $1000-$2000 price for a professional, I figure that I can do the 10 to 20 times with amazing results. By the way, did I mention that the kit cost me less than $100 dollars.
I did not mention the name of the product as I am not being paid by them.
I have to say that this is my option only, but trust me, it is not like doing your own dental work.

My guy did paint correction and then ceramic'd the entire exterior - body , wheels and glass for $800.
Worked out of his home garage so no overhead; just materials and labor.

Heck, don't know. I had the nose repainted and the right door then the ceramic coating done. $3500 total.
