Skip Shift Eliminator??

I'm floating the idea of installing the 1-4 skip shift eliminator. Looking for any feedback, good or bad.

Appreciated.

imo a waste of money. use a touch more throttle.

Agree with Al, you can adapt your driving and save some money. Besides more throttle, you can also wait about a second in neutral and then put it into second. What I do now, is when I bounce off second, I just go straight to third. Do it enough times and it becomes reflexive.

Depending on the circumstances it can be a PIA. Travel on gravel not trying to toss anything up but first get does not work and fourth does not work at all.

Had mine taken out of the electronics and frankly I think it is a good move.

There is no fuse on the C7 for Skip-Shift.

I would do it, did it on mine. It didn't happen often, but when it did, it was annoying as f.....

Some will say to use more throttle, but I'm not going to change how I drive to please a skimpy little feature I can easily get rid of.

I had mine tuned out by Champion Motors a couple of years ago. I was in there for some other work and I asked and they did it for me.

I did not know there was a fuse we could pull for this...I have a 2010 Z06, anyone know which fuse it is?

In a C6 there is a fuse, not a C7.

For your C6, if you just pull the fuse, you'll get a Check Engine Light. Look for the Blown Smart Fuse method. It's perfect.

DEFINITELY Do it!!

It doesn't kick in that often, but ANNOYING AS HELL when it does. I don't believe you should have to change the way you drive to get around this. It's an easy fix with the CAGS eliminator or you can tune it out. A Must-Do if you ask me.

So, there are lots of CAGS Eliminators on Amazon, etc. Is there a brand that is recommended or preferred? ( trying to avoid junk or cheap overseas)

Aramis76 02-16-2019 02:34 PM

I bought one off Amazon (or Ebay I can't remember) and it still threw a Check Engine light. I checked the resistor they had in it and it was too low.

They sent me another and it was just the same, so I bought the right resistor and used one of the bad CAGS to solder the good resistor in.

All this to say, it's hit and miss, but once you have it, you can make it work.

This ^^^

When I was researching my C7 before I bought it I figured this would be my first 'mod' but really it's not necessary. Not the way I drive anyway.... :)

I always shift 1-3 except on rare occasion in the traffic.
