1992 Corvette 1171 Miles

Selling my grandfathers 1992 Corvette with 1171 miles. I have an advertisement on autotrader, here is the link. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...searchRadius=0

Thanks for looking!

Sorry, Clay, but your Corvette is not a ZR-1. The ZR-1 had a dual overhead camshaft engine and 375 HP in 1992 and had a price of about $ 30000.00 for the ZR-1 option alone, on top of the price for the regular LT-1 Corvette. It was quite limited production. The ZR-1 also had different, wider wheels, and doors, rear fenders, and rear bumper cover were wider to accommodate the wheels. There were also other differences. Yours is a standard LT-1 engine with 300 HP. Probably about 30000 produced in 1992. With 1171 miles on it it should get a premium price, but there could be big maintenance issues with the car not being driven. Sitting in storage with DOT 3 brake fluid, which absorbs moisture, the master cylinder and wheel calipers could be rusty inside and need replacement. Have the tires been replaced? 27 year old tires would be dangerous to drive on.
You have a very nice low mileage LT-1. Good luck with the sale.
Below is a photo of a ZR-1 engine from a C4 Corvette.

Either way, it's a nice looking car. GLWS.

If you guys read the ENTIRE autotrader ad he corrects that about not being a ZR-1 at the bottom of his ad and tells everyone he can't change the title of the ad

Very nice color combo you have sir! My very first Corvette was the same combo only it was a C3 model

I appreciate all the info guys! When I started the ad and put in the VIN number, autotrader just had that one option for the trim type, and I guess it ended up in the title. I have tried to change the title, but I'm going to have to call someone at the company to have it done I think.

To answer the comment about the storage issue, it did sit for a long time in a garage. At the end of 2018 we had a mechanic go through it and change out all the fluids, and anything that needed fixed due to the time it's sat idle. It runs great now, but I'll be the first to tell you I'm not a car guy. I will say this, the corvette community has been helpful anytime I've asked someone for questions or advice. It's been great interacting with corvette owners.

That really is a beautiful 92!! Your asking price is not out of line as the car is stunning!! I wish you guys the best of luck on the sale!!

That's a time capsule, and a beautiful car! If you don't have luck here and with Autotrader, this car might do very well at an auction. The one millionth Corvette, which was damaged in the sink hole incident at the National Corvette Museum and then restored, is the same color combination (although it's a convertible). All the first-year 1953 Corvettes were white/red. At the right auction, a like-new ultra low mile car in the classic color combination may bring pretty good money. Good luck!
