F1x vs 2200x

Thoughts on these blowers on a 416 stroker build??.. car currently has an f1a94.. car has a sleeved block.. and a killer rotating assembly.. winberg crank.. Dyer rods.. CP pistons.. probably moving to edelbrock heads.. looking to move to different intake manifold also.. has port injection.. rps triple and 15 inch conversion..

Thoughts on blowers?..my builder wont run much past 20 psi on 4 bolt heads also.. fyi

USMCMICHZ06 02-18-2019 08:23 PM

Why not go TT?

acz06 02-18-2019 08:24 PM

It's more money or I would do a single pro mod 88 or 91

What comp on the motor plus are you using bolts are ARP studs if you are not running 11:7:1 pistons and have the studs you can do a little more on the boost level & it will live with a good tuner.. That other bolt on the head is only tq down to 40lbs..

You may look at 1/2 stud in the heads also on it to help hold stuff down better... Robert

2200x if planning on staying around 1100whp. Anything over I would just go with f1x

black_c7 02-19-2019 11:51 PM

2200x isn’t anything better than the regular 2200r, maybe just 20 30 whp more, if you looking to make 1100+ go for the x for sure or stick with your f1a94

Billy@MTI 02-20-2019 10:29 AM

Your F1A-94 hits much harder than the F1X. I would leave it. You can make 1100 with what you have.

Wrong.... The 2200X has the billet guts and housing. It is only 50cfm short of a F1X. I run the 2200x and make around 1100 on full tilt without the intake on the blower (26psi).

The 2200X is a blower that brings in the power at a lower RPM than a F1X which was important for me. I wanted to enjoy the car on the street instead of just turning a big HP number. I also did not want the vertical inter-cooler setup the procharger kit has. I had the novi1500 before with the horizontal IC and just switched to the 2200X head unit. Everything else stayed the same. ECS is also A+ when it comes to customer service.

I agree with this. The 94 is a bad dude. It's not worth the money to switch to f1x or the 2200x. I'd spend my money elsewhere. Like port injection or something where you can run full e85. (if the OP doesn't have port injection already)

I know ita has the billet impeller but does that make it any better than the r! NO the both have the same power limit that why i said if he want 1100 to stay with the f1a94 since he already have it, anything more than that f1x is his only route other than turbo.

Dude...you're wrong. the X is considerably more blower than the R. It's not all about HP number it's about how much air does it move. The F1A-94 is 1625 cfm so it's more in line with the 2200R and the F1X is 2000 cfm.

Have a look.

i totally understand that, but there is no real life results that show the 300cfm increasment over the 2200r

C7&7 02-20-2019 01:20 PM

Ok.... lol.. I'm not going to argue with you. The point is they don't "have the same power limit". They are in fact blowers with considerably different potentials. CFM's don't lie.

However to your point the 300 or so CFM is splitting hairs in any blower setup. Hell the f1a94 to f1x is just 300 ish cfm different. It's not worth the money to change but the X will make more power and have more future potential just like the 2200x would over the R.

acz06 02-20-2019 02:07 PM

My gut is telling me the 94 will be plenty.. made 900 at 17 pounds on full e85.. not sure what the 416 will make but we will c.. still waiting in the crank.. winberg is so backed up.. I won't get it till April..

Thx for the great responses..

Unreal 02-20-2019 04:23 PM

Stick with current blower.

USMCMICHZ06 02-20-2019 09:47 PM

For reference I'm making just shy of 1100 to the wheel on race gas with a -94. Going to port injection and likely E85 next season; I saw one car in that configuration make 1180... Car currently makes 21 PSI and I can pulley down.

You are absolutely right about that

algZO6 02-21-2019 10:11 AM

i have ran a ysi-b with the nano coating and a f1x on the exact same combo. the x picked up over 150 at the wheels over the ysi-b and lost nothing down low....not to mention the x was still pulling when i shut it down at 7200

Unreal 02-21-2019 10:23 AM

All of them are great blowers, but if the OP is just going for 1000-1150, and has a f1a-94, it will do that with ease. Why change or mess with anything?

He shouldn't at all. The 94 has plenty of headroom to accomplish his goals.
