C4 Dana 44 Ring and Pinion gear
 

Will Dana 44 ring and pinion gears fit in Dana 36 differential housing?
Is there any other difference between Dana 44 and Dana 36 differential other than the pinion and ring gear?
Will all The years of C4 differentials inter change?

I have a C61 code in 95 corvette computer.
Can't find the definition of a C61 code anywhere

D44 stuff does not go into D36 or vice versa. The differential housing is different as well, the same suspension can bolt to either.

If you swap one, you just swap the whole housing and everything and then the rear suspension.

Where did you find the DTC 61? I'm quite sure there's an ABS DTC 61, A CCM PASS-KEY DTC 61 and also an SIR DTC 61

I figured it was different bit I wasn't sure.
I saw a set D44 gears for sale on craigslist.
I have a 94 with automatic I assume is a D36
Also have 95 with six speed that I assume is a D44
I should probably by the D44 gears in case I rip the one out in the six speed car.

I am probably going to over haul the engine in the six speed car. Valve stem seals are bad and its leaking oil at front of engine.
When I got the car it had been sitting for a long time. Engine was stuck. I got it loose and started it. It also has some ring blow by
I was thinking about putting a LT 4 cam in it. The computer was set up for LT 4 cam. So I was told when I bought the car.

Yes D36 for the A4, D44 for the M6.

I have a current code of C21 C61 C62 all in module A

Seem to be SIR/DERM codes - do you have the correct FSM (factory service manual)?

Do you have a known SIR/DERM issue? Does KEY-ON DIC do as it should for SIR/DERM? Did you just stumble upon these while attempting to do IP/Cluster diagnostics?

I pulled codes trying to figure out why.

I solved the C21 code. Broken wire at TPS sensor.
C62 is oil temp voltage low indicating high temp, but the oil temp is reading about same as water temp.
Can't find C61 on the list

They come up in module as current. But code in in 9 as history codes. Makes no sense to me either. I know from past exp. with a 94 vette I changed the heater control and the ecm started getting all kinds of codes including o2 sensor. Till I put the old one back in. Only thing I could figure out with that one is the ecm or bc module would not accept the donor heater control. So I cleaned the contacts on the original heater control and put it back in. Solved all the random ecm codes.

It comes up as current in module a. The ecm had vats removed. I don't have the ignition key with the pellet on it. The engine would start with a jumper wire put on starter with key switch turned on. But starter would not engage with key switch till I put the correct resistor in wire going to ignition switch.
I thought the codes might clear after I bypassed the vats on the ignition switch. But there was no change.

I know the traction control doesn't work at all, but the brakes appear to be working ok. No brake locks up, but I haven't tried any hard fast stops either.
Some fool has done some wire cutting and splicing at the TPS sensor and the ignition coil. both have had the plug changed and the wire colors don't match. Also where the ground wires attach to the left lower back side of the engine have been cut and splice and re attached near the intake.
The 94 I have has ground wire in the harness that attaches on the ignition coil mounting bracket. The 95 doesn't so I am guessing some idiot cut it off.
