Drag racing at the track, how to use the modes?
 

This past weekend me and some friends went to a local drag track. I've never tried to use all of the fancy setting in track mode before. I'm looking for some advice on how others with track experience use them.

Here's the problem I was having. I would turn the traction control completely off by hitting the button once, then holding it down for about 8 seconds or whatever it is. I'd pull into the burn out box. I also had it in manual so I can switch to second gear while burning out. After the burn out I'd put the car in track mode, turn the traction control back on, hit the traction control button twice to bring up the different track modes, then pick sport 1. After that id stage and off we went. The best I ran was 11.4 with the car bone stock, except the tires were continentals.

Due to having so much stuff to switch from and remember I'd forget to take the car out of manual after the burn out and mess up the run (Did that twice). Another time I accidentally put the car in wet mode and it wouldn't do the burn out. I just think I was really over complicating things. What do the guys that know how to race them do. This was my first time ever at a track and using a light.

That being said I had a freaking blast! Just felt like the car could have ran a 11.1 or 11.2 with teh mistakes I was still making. It was a real struggle to get out of the hole at times, but found with a good burn out it would hook pretty good.
